Hello from a druid so tall,

Just sending greetings and well-wishes to all my old Druid budders and sistas. Nice to see at least a few names I remember.

Paldor has been reborn an undead rogue on WoW. I am sure you hear that a lot around here.

I hope that EQ is treating you all well. I will check back soon to see if anyone actually remembers me.

:wavey:

-Paldor
Elder Druid of Quellious. (Now a tree in Surefall).

heh..

Yeah, but since I am a rogue they will call me "rouge" and laugh that I am not their druid uberness.

/shudder.

Ahh EQ memories...I remember :

* Paldor would have been a wood elf druid, but I tried to do it as my first character and within the first hour I had talked to the Priest of Discord and turned PvP (whops!), Fallen off the tree-house about 4 times, had no equipment / no money, and at least 8 bodies out in the forrest "near a tree" never to be found again.... I decided that wood-elves were not for me, and besides that noone would ever try and level a new character in Greater Faydark (lol!)

* Creating my human druid in Queynos because "Oh.. I had tried Freeport and it was too confusing a place, I got lost trying to get to the bank each time."

* Running my human druid at level 14 from Qeynos to Freeport because BlackBurrow had gone mostly green and Everfrost was empty of people.

* Seeing a level 30 and actually bowing to him. I didn't ask him any questions because I didn't want to bother somone that high a level. HE HAD BRONZE ARMOR! dude...

* Starting an alt.. Human Warrior. I could not afford armor, so he actually was still wearing cloth armor in the desert of Ro killing Beetles at level 8, with a tarnished axe.

* Getting my teleports at level 19, and spending all day porting between E Commons and Karana giving out SoW to people that had never gotten a SoW before and were very happy. (Before the "SoW plz" people became common.)

* Refusing to kill bears and wolves because it just would not right as a servant of nature.

Haha, actually I only started EQ in mid 2000, and there was a strategy guide I bought with it (was my first MMOG and I had no clue how useless it would prove to be). Anyway, one of the bits of misinformation in the strategy guide was that druids shouldn't attack animals, because it would give them bad faction with all animals...

I think my friends looked at me funny when I refused to kill any wolves or bears when we were grouping. And boy was I embarrassed when I found out.

Did the Freeport to Qeynos run too, at level 8? I had camouflage so it wasn't too bad.

Great to see you still around Paldor!

Hehe. Actually, killing wolves and bears near Qeynos was a faction hit for druids if I remember correctly. I didn't get strange looks till I moved to freeport.

I would have been a WE druid except I was under the impression that humans got an exp bonus. That and I already had a WE bard.

Humans and asslings get a 5% experience bonus. So you had the right impression!
