Anyone watching the news right now?

What a riot.

What a joke.

Lois Farrakhan (man that name reminds me of Shrek for some reason) seems uh erm.. a little off kilter/whacko, but I havnt read anything about rioting at the Million Man More march or whatever its called

maybe you saw http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/10/15/nazi.march/index.html ?

"TOLEDO, Ohio (CNN) -- A neo-Nazi group's scheduled march against "black crime" in Toledo, Ohio, sparked rioting Saturday afternoon."

WASHINGTON Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan says it's up to government to prove that a levee wasn't bombed to flood poor black people out of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Farrakhan said he's heard that military explosives may have been used to blow a hole in the levee, resulting in what he said would amount to "mass murder."

He also said

On October 24, 1989, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC., Louis Farrakhan stated that he had a vision of being abducted in 1985 by an invisible pilot in a UFO and carried up on a beam of light to a "human built planet" known as the "Mother Wheel." There the voice of Elijah Muhammad informed him that the president and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, under the direction of Gen. Colin Powell, were planning a war, which Farrakhan said he later came to realize was "a war against the black people of America, the Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan." "I saw a city in the sky," Farrakhan said, after which the UFO "brought me back to Earth and dropped me off near Washington; over to Tyson Corners and Fifth Street I think...to make The Announcement."

But your original post was sayin that the Million More March was turning into (black) riots, and if anyone else was watching it on the news.

I havn't seen anything about rioting for that march, your link doesnt show any riots, just that hes uh.. well weird.

The riots in Toledo were completely unrelated to that piece of **** Farrakhan.

The riots in Toledo were...well strange. I'm glad I was in Columbus this weekend, though.

I know the toledo riots had nothing to do with the Million man march, I was trying to find out what "riots" at thh Million man march Fyrr was talking about, and maybe confused them?

Perhaps he is referring to Farrakhan's attempts to incite by stating that the US military set explosives to open the levee in New Orleans to intentionally drown poor blacks? "I saw a city in the sky," Farrakhan said, after which the UFO "brought me back to Earth and dropped me off near Washington; over to Tyson Corners and Fifth Street I think...to make The Announcement."Oh COME now! If aliens wanted him to make an announcement, why drop him off in Tysons Corner? Why not DC itself? Unless they gave him cab fare, too. :p

Or maybe since MLK's "I HAD A DREAM" speech went over so well, he thought he'd try one, too?

What I would like to know is if any blacks really believe this guy. Unfortunately, if you can't make progress by telling the truth, tell a lie. I will be interested to see if this guy goes the way of Jesse Jackson.

Farrakhan makes Jesse Jackson look respectable. He's been around for years. He's a rabid anti-semite and sadly there are a number of blacks who believe his virulent rhetoric.

"What I would like to know is if any blacks really believe this guy." Look no further than CSPAN at the crowds gathered on the Mall to hear the vitriol spewed by a demagog and his minions.

Looks like the riot was caused by opportunists and had nothing to do with Farakan. I saw the speech given by the Chief of Police and the Sheriff this morning, they said they were "prepared"... sure looked like it to me. They said "negotiations failed"... bwahahahahahaha. I'd say the law of unintended consequences just provided a lesson in reality to the maroons that decided the PC approach to dealing with thugs was to try and "negotiate with them and allay their grievences".

I feel sorry for you Aidon if you have to live with asshat leadership like that.

The interesting thing here is that there was barely any news coverage on this event at all. If Fyyr hadn't posted this thread and the link, I never would have seen a thing about it. I saw more "news" links on Madonna's child rearing than I did on this. At least on the standard news sites.

I remember a guy from the "New Black Panther Party" On Hanity and Colmes one night talking about Farrakhan, as leader of the party. I think both of them are smoking some bad Hashishi and giving Islam a worse rep then what it's unfortunatley been given here in America already.

And thank god this guy isn't getting any news coverage.

Yeah. Interesting tho... given the crowd that was there.
