Decided to go ahead with recruiting, so if you thought the idea sounded interesting, check out the new website.

<FINITE Purity>"Finite Purity" is a new guild on Stromm Server that is set to launch on Thursday, October 27, 2005. The concept of the guild is this: Start a new character, level up without using tradeable gear, become a hardcore raiding guild. This is not a guild intended for Casual players. We are expecting everyone to put a lot of time and effort into their characters. If you can't play for at least 30 hours a week, you won't be able to keep up with us. Once we are raiding, Raid times will be 7pm-2am EST weekdays, 2pm-2am weekends. That's just the time frame for the raids, won't be raiding that much too often :p.

If the idea sounds a bit interesting to you, check out our website.

original message:

I'm thinking about starting a new guild and would like any feedback that folks would be willing to give. Right now I'm just trying to get a feel if the idea would work, and if there was enough interest to fill the ranks. I'm not currently recruiting.

"The concept of the guild is this: Start at level 1 with a new toon, then level your toon without using any bazaar gear, bazaar spells, or powerleveling. Once the guild has sufficient numbers of leveled players, it will begin to raid, starting with some Velious targets and all Luclin targets. The guild will progress through all content, completely ignoring the economic side of Everquest. This will hopefully narrow the guild's attention onto what some of us feel is the "core" and "pure" part of Everquest, notably, raiding."

The guild is tentatively destined to begin on the Stromm server if I choose to recruit for it.

Thanks.

It's a really cool idea in my opinion, but it would probably be really hard to pull off due to the time it would take to get the toons up to a raid capable level plus having to get all the spells from all the corners of the world.

If it is to work, it must have a really cool name like the "Suicidal Retro Bunnies"

LOL, Sildan!

In theory it sounds cool. I honestly do not see it working, tho I would be impressed if it did. The concept is cool, and would bring back the fun to EQ that alot of people have lost sight of. Seeing new places and exploring with new people without an emphasis on gear, etc.

I recently met someone on my server who has pretty much done the same for me, taking me to explore, showing me new zones, and walking me through new quests. All and all -- Just putting the joy back into EQ. Its greatly improved how I see the game, and I am sure your guild would do the same for others.

So, on that note, I do think that its a cool theory, and I hope it works. Very original and cool idea! :p

You might be able to improve your chances of success on the roleplay server, where players are (supposedly) more interested in game play than advancement...I think it is (was?) Firiona Vie.

I have a full outline for the guild posted here if you would like to take a look:

Mabb - in an effort to un-derail your post I am re-quoting you. I am sorry for that... :(

Hahahaha. That made me giggle for a good bit. Druids are so kind. The shadowknights harmtouched me in like 4 minutes and almost caused me to ban SKs from the guild. But, you can't hold one SK accountable for the actions of all of them. Then again, you can hold one gnome accountable for the actions of......

well :)

If you ban the gnomes, what will you do for a ball to play games while during downtime?

This is my first post on this board, so Greetings to you all. I play on Firiona vie, and yes it is ...supposed to be the roleplay server. Due to the nature of the server, the rules are a little different, the economy is weird there, but otherwise it's great.
I run the Caretakers Fellowship on that server, and I discourage my young ones from going to places like Paludal, which is a ding factory, unless they are a reroll from another character, and know thier class.
This is a good idea, but people like me who have characters on FV would not be able to belong to a guild like this, as we are only allowed one character per account.
Just something to think about if you decide to do this...

This guild wouldn't work on FV-- there aren't any no-drop items on FV hehe. Plus, i'm not a big role-player.

Now, as for punting gnomes for fun while waiting for raids...I'd say, gnomes are in.

Yes, there are many 'no drop' items on FV. And there is a trivial loot code to deal with.

Punting Gnomes...I am not familer with this game...however, my husband..who is a Vah Shir, enjoys tossing Dwarves.

Gnomeball, just get a nice stick and your all set to play.

I guess you could try and use a halfling instead, but the hair might get in the way and discourage some from touching the ball.
