share your most interesting tale of your most unmindful or embarrassing moment in eq as a druid here

I'll start: I was an LDON addict from the day it came out and ran them like mad. one day I gathered a pick up group for a hard dungeon (everfrost). it was a slaughter mission. things didn't go our way in the dungeon and we had a couple of partial wipes. we went for broke and wound up making a major comeback. I was pulling and was pulling a mob into camp, when someone announced that we had two mobs to kill with four minutes left to do it. the group killed it and I trotted off to grab another thinking it to be the last mob. again, I brought it to the group, we killed it and I heard the trumpets sound go off signifying our mission was a success.

I told my group gratz and hit the succor:ro spell for the customary split. when we landed everyone in the group was like, WTF?? and started in on me asking why the hell I had ported them out.

turns out when they said two mobs left, they meant two mobs after the current pull. I had evaced us to south ro after hearing myself ding an AA, which is the exact same sound as a successful mission!! we still had one mob left to kill, we couldn't get back in time and ended up losing the mission because of me.

Hmm, sounds familiar. While fighting in Sol Ro Tower. We worked our way to the top of the stairs and started medding while an enchanter grabbed a fire pet. I started making a hot key gor my heal spell. Except I put the /cast Succor spell in the key and while fighting I hit the key. Message target is being healed but we were ported to zone in and chanter lost pet and could not DC for a while and all were yelling at me.

Let's just say exodusing a group full of secondary tanks during Overlord Mata Muram wasn't my finest moment ><. I had switched hotkey banks to rez a cleric and forgot to switch back, so when I hit '4' to cast rgc I ended up hitting Exodus instead.

We were ~very~ fortuate that we were in a situation that was about as stable as that fight can be and had a very very fast CoH team, but we won that time so it's all good!

Exodus key is now on hotkey bank 7 for a reason... >< (I only use the first 3-4 normally). Looking back on those moments is really funny now, but I felt like the worst loser ever for making that kind of mistake when it happened.

I refuse to hotkey exodus. It's within easy mouse click range but not TOO easy to get to. It's just too easy to hit when hotkeyed.

I find the best way to get around that is to have Exodus set to Zero, and all your important buttons on the first hotkey set. I even keep exo on my first page now because I never hit it by accident now.

It's a toss up between two:

1. Mid 30's fighting in Emeral Jungle with some friends, things get hairy, they scream "Port!!" (No succor at this time) so I start to cast what I swore I memmed, which was circle of the nexus, but in actuality was RING...Some moments later..."Thanks Gol" filled group chat, and I ported back down to help with the CR

2. Lvl 70 (sometime last month lol) Running from WOS to some random raid target on raid night. Raid leader say, "groups sound of when members are invised and ready" As a group leader, I make sure and camo all, and report back, "group 3 gtg" we start to follow the raid, and I promptly die, as I forgot to click my own invis!!!

Various times I snared/rooted myslef also, but those two, and falling down the POK elevator stand out!

I've done that twice in the last couple weeks. First was in WoS, and I was able to evac. First time I got to use evac after spending the AA! (Must be why I forgot to camo, so I could use evac :P) Second time, we got to Madronoa in Natimbi, and i turned around to find a noc in my face.

Back in the day when Hate was a major raid, and involved a mass wipe on zone in and then a drag fest, and our highest rogue had dragged us all to the safe spot, rezzes done... And I ported us to So Ro.
Surprise!!
The embarrasment has lasted years and has eclipsed the many surprise evacs I have treated my friends too since then.

The other was when I, guild leader and mentor to the young'uns was showing a group around OOW. I landed us in Bloodfields, made sure everyone had invis and levitate, and then boldly led the way to RCD. Well... that is, I almost boldly led the way... I guess my SOE was a bit stale. It wore off as I stepped off the bridge.
FOLLOW ME! *splat*

I finally got my turn for epic fight in RCoD. Was so excited and was giving the strats for the fight while moving my group to Blood/RCod that I didn't notice my own FoE faded. I went splat off bridge. And peeps just don't give you slack when they are waiting on you.

Ahah i also ALWAYS forgot to invis myself .. until i thought i could put a macro doing the instacamo aa (and standup and loc) on the same keys as the forward and back arrow keys. Then i never had a problem until a few days ago.

Did the 70/1 mission on hard setting (a nightmare, took some hours with 2nd best tank on server).. my autocamo was rewriting inviso to undead all the time so we were getting adds and people were yelling why i was getting aggro .. when i relized what was going on i disabled autoinviso.

We finally won .. and happily went to do a seeker mission to put a final nice easy glazing on the evening. I run to jazza hut and get aggro .. SEE INVISO.. zone stoneroot, zone back , get aggro SEE INVISO rezone, rezone get aggro SEE INVISO and finally die in front of jazza hut lol .. just when dying I thought that i never saw so many see inviso in undershore .. and then that i was just running around uninviso =). Groupies were definitely tapping their foot meanwhile lol

LOL Just the other day we were in a Creator pickup group and well it left alot to be desired...anyway we had a cleric but for some reason I was left healing most of the time, so..bad pull..I heal...get aggro, and forgot that I had the wrong spell set up so I hit my #9 to heal myself because said cleric wasn't doing it...(which is my quick heal) to find out that it was root and LOL of course I died.
Anyways it was humorous until I died 4 times as did the rest of the group and I said, I think I'm gonna call it a day lol

Funny this topic pops up today.

Most druids in my guild have had that fubar moment of porting out a group in the middle of battle (ssra, VT, elementals, Time, etc - we left no expansion out it seemed). I seemed to have steared clear of those moments - well I had until last night.

We skipped a lot of GoD and went straight to Anguish. Well, we decided to go finish up GoD expansion and where there to get access to Taxci (maybe - I can't remember those jacked up names) last night. Anyway, we're sitting around waiting on raid to engage. I was bored playing gems so I started practicing my mandolin at the keyboard. I was semi-afk keeping an eye out for called raid movement.

I looked up and saw "move raid east" typed out twice. Thinking I was missing engagement, I got up and ran right into Zun's room agro'ing all sorts of evil nasties almost causing the raid to wipe. You see, our raid leader wasn't telling us to move - he was mapping out the way our raid would move WHEN we stated the encounter step by step. I didn't take the time to read everything that had been said! Yes - the Leroy Jenkins jokes started immediatly.

Now the funny part. We rezz up & med up. About 5 mins before engagement - our guild leader runs the wrong way RIGHT INTO THE SAME ROOM. Yup - here we go again.

Our guild usually does well with our raids - like I said, we're in Anguish. We're not the highest raiding guild by any means - but we know what we're doing. It was just one of those nights when nothing went right - and I was a big reason for it.

Nice topic by the way. It's nice to be able to laugh at our mistakes!
