VNV Nation is hit-or-miss... either you love the song or you think it sucks imo =p

To add to the list:

Dragonforce (British power-metal group, possibly more popular on that side of the ocean)
Nightwish (not really sure how popular they are, but only 1 person I know knew about them ><)
Jackalope (if you're into really strange sounding music)

Heh, noone's heard? I've heard three of em =P TheThe isn't bad. Caberet Voltaire is kind of meh. HIM has a rather popular song out on all the 'alternative rock' stations. Better than the standard 'new rock' fare (though I do love this neo-80's fad that's going on atm heh).

You really want good bands noone has heard? =D

(warning, most of these are long defunct)

Rubella Ballet
Brotherhood of Pagans
Mephisto Waltz
Skeletal Family
The Virgin Prunes
Love Like Blood
Theatre of Hate
Christian Death
Tones on Tails
Fields of the Nephilim
Dulce Liquido
Hocico
Black Tape for a Blue Girl
Switchblade Symphony
Jackoff Jill
The Danse Society
Red Lorry Yelloy Lorry
Screams for Tina
Sex Gang Children
Skinny Puppy (surely everyone's heard of Skinny Puppy?)
Agent Provacateur
KMFDM (again, surely everyone has heard of KMFDM?)
Siouxie and the Banshee's (y'all have to know them)

I'd have to start digging to rembmer the names of some of the other bands I've enjoyed.

Gah Nightwish. This is what happens when you try to make Death Metal listener friendly.

I like vocalists over bands for the most part nowadays. I've also gotten into some really eclectic new age-ish stuff.

I'm shocked to see another person in the states who has heard of TISM. An Aussie friend of mine turned me on to them back in the early 90's -- they're hilarious. I listened to Morrison Hotel and was hooked.

To add to the list of bands:
The Insect Surfers
The Slickee Boys

The thing with TISM is you have know a little Australian or a lot of their songs don't make any sense. My best friend in high school lives in Melbourne now and he turned me onto TISM. Recently I've hand "I may be a c*nt, but I'm not a f**king c*nt" stuck in my head. I've also want to go to open mike poetry night and recite "And the Ass Said to the Angel:"

Was it a generic song-virus infliction or was it brought on by one (or more) of the debates here? :)

Don't forget to wear a balaclava and look like a degenerate. It's a necessary part of the delivery.

Seraphim Shock

Can't think of any others right now lol

Nosferatu was some decent tunes if you liked the over the top Goth (which I did).

Their 2nd album was much better than their first.

Did they ever manage to come out with the 3rd?

And Cruxshadows aren't bad.

Never heard of Seraphim Shock. I'll have to look em up.

Nosferatu did come out with a third album but it's hard to find since it was released back in the 80's. And they were supposed to have a new album out this past summer too I think
And for Seraphim Shock, http:www.seraphimshock.com :)

Nosferatu didn't come out with much of anything until the early 90's if we're talking about the same band.

Their first real album, afaicr, was Rise. With Legend being a remix album, for the most part (and thus I don't cound it) and then Prophacy.

Everything prior to Rise was simply singles and EPs, I thought?

This hardly qualifies as a band nobody has heard of but they did never quite make it mainstream other than 2 songs but still this forum provides me an opportunity to plug some awesome music. Soul Coughing is my favorite band and while gone, the memory lives on through the lead singer Mike Doughty who has a growing solo career.

So links to the bands free music or something? Otherwise they're still going to be bands I've never heard of.

Super Bon Bon and Circles both got radio play( and possibly "Rolling" also ) and Super Bon Bon was actually used for some game music in Gran Turismo 2 on Play Station.
