I can be cynical in this forum right?

fifteen threads on stances aren't enough to say everything that needs to be said about it. please beat us mercilessly with your original thoughts on the topic here. everyone wants to read your 6 paragraphs arguing for or against it, and please feel free to define exactly what the druid class is and isn't in the process, that really helps the credibilty your deeply insightful and stirringly persuasive arguments.

we're all dumb and your original thoughts have never occured to us.

SOE values your opinion, and you will be paid

I agree, its getting old. Everytime the word stance is used in a post which mentions dev, a 10+ page debate starts.

Its been done - to death.

Same thing with just about every other issue pertaining to druids, druid vs. cleric balance, shaman vs. druid vs. cleric balance, druid PvE capability, uber vs. casual, etc... ><

BULLETPOINTS!!

I find myself doing that on my guild boards all the time, then I look at the 2 pages of dribble I've written then delete it all and write about 5 bulletpoints. Maybe I'm cynical but if most of us can't read instructions in guild chat unless their spamed 20 times, not likely they are gonna read my thesis on guild politics and the proper ways to play a druid in 12 easy steps.

You can provide information - but you can't make people care.

You can give people direction, but in EQ - you can't make them follow it.

Some people just don't care, and want to waste everyone's time - and those people suck.

Seems to me that the people who take the time to post, are the ones that care. If you don't want to read another thread about stances, please, don't click on the link.

And to paraphrase an old saying, if you don't post, you can't complain about the results. :p

That would be valid Remi, except for the fact that people during any given discussion bring it up and the thread derails.

I personally think more posts with the words flexibility and versatility are needed.

I’ve not played in a while; could someone give me a very brief explanation of stances?

Stance : A state of non-existance

Stance : A state of non-existanced

I was hoping for something a little more descriptive and definitive.

Stances haven't been implemented yet. Supposedly they will be added at the very end of class balancing.

In general, the idea seems to be that we would have the option of increasing damage by 25% while reducing heals by 50%, or increasing heals by 25% while reducing damage by 50%, every 5 minutes. Further details on how exactly spells would change with the these modifications, and on the ability to switch stances, are mostly speculation, I think.

Thanks Palarran, sounds like the EQII achievement system/abilities?

From what I understand it is stolen from WoW.

And how about more:

"Stop complaining that what we are getting sucks or Sony will not give us anything. A pitcher of warm spit is much better than dying of thirst, right? So thank the man that hands you the pitcher and don't ask him for tap water."

near as i can tell, stances are another druid feature in the grand tradition of Boo Boo, not particularly useful, but "class definining", apparently to make up for the fact that there are no zones past luclin that aren't designed to remind us that exodus is our only hope:)

Refer to my thread on Attack Debuffs in the Spells Forum, this comment is incorrect.
