No... we don't have a new baby... this is about my 15 year old niece who did something WONDERFUL! She and several friends decided together that they wanted to do something special that would actually MEAN something.
I think we ALL know that young girls are so very proud of their hair when it gets so long that people compliment them the length more than the general attractiveness of it. Long hair for a teenaged girl is a real prize. Well, my niece and three friends all decided that they would cut their hair and donate it to "Locks for Love", an organization that creates wigs ("hair prosthetics") for cancer kids.
I saw her today for the first time since Thanksgiving and her hair was a little longer than chin length (QUITE short for her). I complimented her on it and she looked real bashful and said she thought she looked better with long hair, but thanks. No other word. A bit later my sister told me why my neice had cut her hair. She donated 12".
Anyway, it's not earth shattering, nor is she the only one who has ever done this, but I was so proud of her I just had to share!
