With the expansion giving the chance for people to increase the levels and abilities of their characters from 60 -65, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether or not VI would put in the trivial code they have in place for naggy/vox for other boss mobs.

I was taking a quick look at the changes on Lucy on the 27th and saw...

Now I am not an avid lucy browser, but I thought this looked interesting and got me thinking about the question at hand.

The only way I would see VI having a problem of putting the trivial code on any new mobs would be if "said" mob was the only source of a specific epic quest item. Meaning, if they put it on the mob then people 61+ would not be able to get that piece other then looting it after the mob was dead.

Well, the kunark stuff is already trivial. The dragons can be manaburned with no risk or effort, even a lot of velious stuff can be done with 2 good groups now, which I think is what triggered VI to change Vox/Naggy.

As things are, everything is dead within 24 hours of a patch. As long as they put better loot on tougher mobs so it's better for a guild to kill the toughest thing they can, there won't be farming of lower level stuff by stronger guilds because they have better things to do when they're up.

I wouldnt be surprised if something like this happens after PoP release.

You think back, just after the level raising with kunark expansion was around the same time the idea/implenation of this idea was put into game.

Now with the new expansion and levels set to rise again I myself am not going to be much surprised imho if they do this as well after this coming expansion/level cap raised.

good question, but i personally doubt it. i think VI did that to Vox and Naggy because they wanted to preserve them as a major encounter from the original EQ era. Kunark stuff are already trivial as someone pointed out already. also, there are those rumors about level 65 being restricted to the planes only, though i'm still baffled as to where they sprang from. :)

An entire guild of level 60s has a horrid time taking down these mobs, I hope they don't trivialize them. Will be a lot of empty dungeons, not to mention these mobs are still red to us.

I can see VI making VS and Trak level 55 ala Vox / Naggy = 52.

If not 55 then definitely 60. People still pay and wear the items that drop from those two MOBs. While Trak takes a few minutes to get to, prep for, albeit much less time to whack - VS is doable by 2 strong 58-60 groups.

OTOH, people do pay their $12.95 just like you and I. Guess somewhere there is a balance between content, bottom feeding and griefing.

My memory is a bit foggy, but when Kunark came out, vox and naggy I believe were being taken out fairly fast after server up/pop. No different then the majority of the worth-while boss mobs of today.

I think its a possibility of them to put the trivial code in for other boss mobs that are made very easy by leveling 6 people to 65, but they would have to wait and see how collectively powerful a guild of 65's are before they decide I think.

The spell I mentioned up top, "Devouring Nightmare", does anyone know if that is his proc or some unimplimented spell. It just looked similar to the spell that naggy/vox have for kicking 53+ level characters to zone, especially with it being "innate" and only for any class 61 and up.
