Hi everyone. Lately (I think after the POR expansion was installed?) I have not been getting my Compass marked with colored lines to show direction to instanced zones. I get the system message, but when I turn 360%, I see no colored lines on the compass like I remember them when I was doing LDON adventures. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Could there be a file in the EQ directory that I could delete and re-download with the patcher?

I reported a /bug and /feedback. When I submited a ticket, the GM instictively asked that I use the new default UI. Well, I have been since 3 months before PoR came out. /bonk GM

When you are doing these missions did someone in your group zone into the instanced zone ahead of you getting into zone? I have had the problem that if someone zones into the instanced first, I still get the message that the way is marked on compass, but the mark goes poof.

Yesterday i first noticed something similar one of my group fetched Longshadow 4 mission and i did not get the mark on my kompass, after i had to evac the shm because she got aggro i had the mark on my kompass untill the first of us talked to the NPC after i got the taskupdate the mark was gone.

So if you have no mark make sure that nobody hit the entrance before the group is there and try to zone to get your kompass updated.

uhmmm im never getting the mark.. group can be all where npc giver is they can be all spread beetween zones anything im just not getting the mark since por came out i try reloading ui nothing...
so its not a where is your group issue....

I've had this issue since PoR release, too. Has nothing to do with zoning in, at least in my case; we can all be standing right in front of the instance and I have no line on my compass. I assumed it was the UI I was using but sounds like it may be something else now.

I have had this same issue since PoR release - with LDoN, DoN, and DoDH missions. I even mentioned it in group and the others just said follow me. I thought it had something to do with my UI too, but I do use, and have used the new Default UI since it came out.

Wonder if Sony is aware of this?

I believe this compass issue more related to the POR release instead of who's in group and where. I've obtained a Vxed expedition solo, DoDH Mission while in raid, and Hive instance grouped, and still no mark on compass. It could be related to the POR release, or maybe the new DX9 file didn't like my old graphics card? :shuffle:

I have to believe the proper people at Sony are aware. I've /bugged it, submitted /feedback, /petitioned twice, and spoken with three different guides. :grin: I've also scoured the SOE forums for a solution. Lots of posts about the problem, no response from Developers as of yet. I did find a post naming two specific UI files related to the compass. I deleted those two files and re-downloaded them in hopes there would be newer versions. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

Here's to hoping the upcoming Anniversary patch will include a fix to several existing problems related to the POR release (Including a Zone CRASH for Sol Ro Mini - WTB FIRE FLAG!!). :cool:

I've had the same problem. When POR came out I was using the old UI. I had no mark on the compass. I switched to the new UI, still no mark. I am now using a modified version of the old UI and still no mark. My girlfriend has used the same UI's but on her computer the compass mark shows up every time.

Yes. In fact I deleted and re-patched relevant files, re-loaded the NEW Default UI, and even checked for update to my OLD graphics card.

I'm thinking it's either a PoR release issue, Unsupported Graphics Card issue, DX file issue, or some random BUG that just needs to be found ASAP!!

Stephen51 - Do the computers you and your GF are using have the SAME graphics card installed or different ones?

FYI - I'm currently a "NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440" on Windows XP Home Edition. Seriously considerring purchasing an upgraded card. Any suggestions?

depends on what motherboard you have, assuming you have AGP. Try to get an Nvidia 7800 GS (agp), or a 6600 (agp)

I'm using a custom UI that I refuse to change, but I've found some other guildies who are having the same issue. One has the same UI on all his toons, and his main gets the line while his alt doesn't.
