I just have a quick question about the evolving items on how long does it take to evolve them. I have the Nooglegrop Fendlebar the Unwilling shield and I know that it takes kills to evolve it, but how many does it take to evolve it to the next level and what cons go towards the kill count. I also have the wrap of three blessings which has 7 evolutions, how do you evolve that.

You evolve all items by killing mobs that give you exp; therefore you can kill light blue mobs and level those items up. However, unless you are killing the light blues far faster than you would mobs that give you decent exp, it may be a good idea to evolve them while you grind exp.

Also, all evolving items seem to level at different rates.

I have a question to go along with this... I haven't played in nearly a year... I'm going to be playing again this summer... So... What I'm leading to is... how do you get the evolving items, and also the forms you can get... How do you get the creature forms?

Or Attuneable?

IMO evolving items are a gyp. They are a nice novelty, but spend a good deal of their lifespan offering you inferior stats. In many cases (Nogglethrop is a great example) the final stats themselves aren't that great.

When you buy an evolving item in the bazaar, you pay a lot for novelty value but actually end up with an inferior item.

To answer the question, evolving items come from many sources, just like all loot. Some is quested (eg the shattered blade, the DOD clicky mask), some is attunable and tradable (eg Nogglegrop, Oizyn), and some is dropped by tough rare mobs (eg Painted Dragon Scale). Some named items are also intelligent and talk to you.

I guess it depends on your priorities - if you like the thought of an intelligent item, or like having something to work towards, maybe an evolving item is fine for you. If you like to make your stats as good as you can get them, evolving items are usually not the way to go.

I have the DoD clicky mask. Nice little item but it gains experience at a really, really slow rate.

It seems that the items don't evolve with Raid Experience? I have that PoR Cloak and have gotten several Yellows of AA in Raid Experience over the last few days. Nothing on the Cloak.

No they do not level during raids, I found the same with that cloak. Was at 99% of first lvl for 3 days because I was only raiding and not grping..LOL.

Apparently you aren't supposed to get exp on it from raids.

I have the DoD Mask as well and in a couple months of semi casusal playing.
3-4 nights a week (about 4 hours each time) I have gotten mine to 40% exp on it. It is slow, but not nearly as slow as the Evolving Sword thingy.

Or maybe this is a bug?

Does anyone know if they've nerfed the xp on evolving items from PBAEing? When I first got my DoD mask I went and PBAE'ed in the caves in ssra and seemed to get decent experience on it. Today I tried PBAEing in the deep and after 3 full clears of the area past the bridge or more, I only got 2% which seems completely wrong.

Before it seemed like 27 kills = 1%, now it seemed to take 150 kills for 1%? Afriend who levelled his without pbaeing said his seemed to level much faster.

I have no experience with this, it does go up about 1% ever 25 or so kills tho in normal grouping experiences. I will play with PBAEing later on, probably tomorrow and see if its the same for me.

I have the PoR cloak also ( Cloak of the Spirit Hunter?) and it is leveling faster than I thought it would. I am 14% in to the 2nd stage. I did notice that double xp does not work on it though :(
