I've seen similar ones. I've also sent them to adult friends. The reaction is pretty funny. I would never do that to a child though.

When my kids were young, I would tell them scary stories. I thought they really wanted to hear them because they listened attentively. One time my son worriedly looked at me and asked if my next story had a 'big boo' at the end. That's the last time I intentionally scared them.

My kids are now in their early twenties. They vividly remember the scary stories I told them in their childhood.
