Microsoft creates public bug database for IE (http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-6054198.html)
Microsoft is for the first time encouraging people to give public feedback on Internet Explorer, with the creation of a bug database for the next version of its browser, the IE 7 beta.

The company admitted that customers have often asked why it doesn't have a public bug database, something that is standard practice for open-source projects such as Mozilla's Firefox browser.

"Many customers have asked us about having a better way to enter IE bugs. It is asked, 'Why don't you have Bugzilla like Firefox or other groups do?' We haven't always had a good answer, except it is something that the IE team has never done before," Al Billings, a member of the IE project team, wrote in a Microsoft blog Friday.
I suggested years ago (and back then it wasn't a new idea, either) that Sony needs to have a public bug database for EQ.

Of course, since I can't even post on their board that they should at least have a way for people to easily know the status of the game without Sony removing the post, this isn't gonna happen until pigs fly.

Feel free to move this to Unkempt forum if you think that people don't need to know more about Sony's incompetence.

It's been a while since I've played EQ-1, but EQ-2 has public forums where lots of bugs are posted. The serious ones get solved, the minor ones may not. Of course many posters express righteous indignation that their particular bug wasn't addressed yesterday, or complaining about the bug being there in the first place.

If Microsoft is just now initiating public forums for posting of bugs, then Sony EQ-2 is way ahead of the game.

It may be fashionable to slam Sony, and I've done my share, but lets not overlook facts in our rabid enthusiasm to put them down.
