I found that binding the forage hotkey to my up arrow (or any other would work) would allow me to hit it every time it came up without even thinking about it.

There used to be a formula of how high you could skill up at each level. Is that still true? Something like (Level +1) * 5

Even so, at 24, the cap would be 125, not 76.

Uktabi,

Welcome to the Grove :)

Yes, forage maxes at the lesser of 200 or (level + 1) * 5. Actually 76 at level 25 isn't that bad, considering how quickly the low levels go by these days. I personally think it just seems worse than it is (at least that's my personal recollection going back 5 years) because it refreshes so slowly.

I think Dayuna's suggestion is a good one, it will help you not get pre-ocupied with always staring at the Forage button. However, I would offer one word of caution. If you swap to different pages on your hotkey bar, you would need to put forage in the same spot on each page for that method to work. If that works, you're set. If you'd rather not do that, then another idea is to pick some hotkey you click a lot (like maybe a spell gem for snare, perhaps), and instead of having the hotkey just be the gem for snare, you could instead use a macro like this:

/cast 1 - (or whatever gem you have snare on)
/doability 1 - (or whatever button on the "abilities" page you have forage on)
/autoinventory - (can't stress this one enough. Drops whatever you forage in your bags :)

My hotkey for forage now looks like this

/doability 1
/autoinventory
/autoinventory

Nature's Bounty is a wonderful AA :) Only 1 AA point, obtainable at level 51, and gives you an 18-20% chance to double forage. If you're a forage junky, I highly recommend it.

i am going to be a forage junkie, i only made the hafling druid to make leatherfoot haversacks. My main is a 70 necro ruffly 9k hp so i have been using him to pl the druid i.e. mana is not a problem when lvl'ing the druid hehe. once i get the druid to 46 it is game set match on getting to 65, i figured might as well roll him to 65 so i can have 9 and stuff for the necro.

my forage social is something like this

/yawn
/doability 1
/autoinventory
/rude

after lastnight, using a gamepad while i was xp'ing i got the skill up to 106
with the game pad it hit the button for me every 100 seconds. wich seems to be the refresh time, why cant it be on the same refresh time as tracking, had that max'd as soon as i hit 24.

this thing is the bomb, you can actually set it up so you only use your keyboard to type.

I just setup one of the keys to run a macro function. i.e. hit my tab key every 100 seconds. I havnet gotten into it too much yet but i will probably set up the other keys for spells and stuff, i need to try and figure out how to make the mouse part of it work too.

you can find them for around 24 bucks now too.

Just a note, with the Nostromo if you are not at the console and using it to forage, Rashere has stated that is against the EULA. I know this sight has fairly strict rules about those sort of discussions and I just want to caution people about it. A similar discussion exists over on the EQTC boards as many rare forages are tradeskill items.

right, i was at the pc but i was on my other box playing my necro.
dont go away for a long period of time, that is against the eula.
