I forgot to ask in last post, what does the spell Banishment do? Alla says it destroys target........how many hitpoints in damage does this do? Are there specific mobs it destroys? How does this spell work? Is it a guarantee instant kill to certain mobs?

It consume a Starruby, it's an instant kill with no XP and no loot.

Is it a guarantee instant kill to certain mobs?

Last time i remember it being very useful was PoJ trials when they were still challening. A mage or a druid could Banish some of the mobs if they didn't get resisted. Usually helped to have all debuffs you could get on them first too.

I am not sure what could be banished in "newer" content and assume most stuff would resist. The star ruby is consumed even on resists and it has a bit of a refresh timer to contend with but never thought about using it since PoJ.

What does it do?

It consumes Star Rubys.

It allegedly also is supposed to destroy under level 61 summoned mobs but I don't think I have ever seen that part work. In the PoJ execution trial, it was constantly resisted.

Or you didn't debuff. I did the PoJ trials with a shaman and enchanter, and had maybe 1 resist, in over 25 execution runs.

Yeah, after debuff it would usually hit for me.

Be aware however that if it hits, there's no corpse, no loot, so don't get no smart ideas about trying for a lucky shot with a named for the loot :P

I didn't debuff. Since I know of no debuff that works for Summoned Mobs that druids have. The only debuffs I know of we have are for cold, fire, AC and ATK.

Please tell me what I am missing please. I am aware that I still have much to learn.

I think the implication was that people don't solo the PoJ trials, which is basically the only place the spell was used. And if you're in a group, there might be some combo of chanter/shaman/mage to do some debuffing (MR, I assume).

I have the spell, though I've never used it.

POJ trials is the only place I've ever used this spell too. And I would guess I got about half of my casts resisted. Because of the reuse timer on it, you basically get one shot per round in the trials and I haven't used this spell since then.

You are missing that PoJ trials are done with other people, and at the time were meant for a balanced group of players. Part of balancing for groups I was in was a debuffer so banish would land.

Think outside the box and realise that not all the spells/abilities of a certain class are necessarily only beneficial to their own respective abilities. Some work better in conjunction with other classes spells/abilities - This is one of those.
