There is so much banter on this board about Cleric's and vice versa, on EQCleric's board about Druid's. Do you all realize how assinine you are.

There are pro's and con's to each class. Honestly, you don't need and never have needed a Cleric in any group for XP. I have been in groups where the Druid has wanted to heal, and keeps the entire group alive just as good as I would, while snaring, doting, nuking. I was able to get up and pull and melee because of this fact and it was a nice change of pace.

Everyone needs to quit getting a hard on for the other class and all the whiners that post on both ends. You chose your class for a reason, play it and enjoy it with whatever is thrown your way. If you don't enjoy it and find you have to rant and rave about it all the time, take a step back and take a deep breath, it's a game :)

of course you dont get it. you've never been expected to be able to do fill a role your class simply isnt capable of because of lack of spell strength. you've never been told to PL a useful class if you want to raid. you've never had a group completely pass on you when seeking someone from your class archtype because they'd rather take the chance that the desired class would log on because they know you simply cant be relied on to do the job (because of lack of spell strength), you've never been put in group 11 with 3 chanters and 2 app rangers, you've never been considered a "waste of loot" based on your class by the leader of a very uber guild and knowledgable player, you've never had a guild app rejected based on class, you've never the ability to do something you stopped doing a year and a half ago held over your head as a reason why you cannot be brought back up to par.

once you've done all these, maybe you'll "get it"

(yeah, this is a whine/rant, but i think its quite appropriate as a reply to this post)

I didn't post this to get whining and ranting, I posted it so you could take a look at the positives of your class and do with that what you have been able to do for a long time.

Why did you choose a Druid to begin with? Why did I choose a Cleric to begin with? Why do we both continue to play the class that we chose?

I could answer back with retorts to each and every comment you made, as there always situations and scenarios for every single class there is, and there always will be.

My point still remains, it's a game, play it, enjoy it, do what you want to have some fun, don't try and tear someone else a new one just because of some changes that are made. Adjust and work with it, it's a fact of life, change is good, you'd be bored outta your mind if there was no change.

Do you enjoy logging into a game and trying to enjoy yourself while some random_player /ooc's and /shout's about how they hate you and your class with the upgrades that have occured or even getting tells from people that you don't even know because of it? Too many people take things to the extreme without thinking about it first, I've been guilty of it as well, everyone has.

Plain and simple, whine, groan, rant all you want, do you truly feel better after the fact? Do you think the person on the other side of the other Avatar feels any better about it? The people that survive and do well are the ones that cope and deal with things as best they can when they are presented with them. You make the choice for yourself, no matter what changes are implemented, not anyone else. Play and enjoy the game :)

It's a game, and the idea of games is that they're supposed to be fun. Constantly trying to adapt and constantly fighting uphill against the situations we face (not against other classes) gets old, it got old two years ago, and it's no longer fun. Why do i still play my druid you ask? I've gotten this far, i'm not about to give up. Our class has deteriorated into very little, and holds very few redeeming qualities in the endgame today. If you wanna argue that druids are not less than balanced, then you're either extremely bias or uninformed. Playing a character that is constantly unable to perform tasks that SHOULD be simple for what our intended role is loses the fun factor in a hurry. what do druids want? for playing our druid to be fun again.

Yes, games are meant to be fun. Up until the beginning of the month when was the last time you saw any changes made to Clerics. We are an end game class, and up until that point, we weren't much of anything else otherwise. We couldn't very well, if at all if we wanted to. Are you saying that sitting at a raid mashing a hotkey for a cycle is fun? Every class has it's ups and downs in every scenario in game, like I said, I'm not about to start, because I didn't post this to do so, nor would it make any sense to do so. Bashing other classes isn't what is needed to get a fix that you want for your own class, yet it's something that so many people do when they whine and rant. Balancing isn't about giving X class, Y class abilities, it's about making them function in their role more efficiently in all scenarios. It's something that will never be done, it's something that too many will never be happy with.

If it got old 2 years ago, and has remained old even throughout all the changes that have occured, and it's still not fun, but you stuck it out just because of the work put into it (sounds to me like a dead end job) time to find something new perhaps.

I'll stick to one of my first comments, take a breath, take a step back, enjoy the game. Think about things, there's a reason you stuck it out for the past 2 years, even though you say you class is constantly unable to perform the tasks that should be simple for your intended role. How about finding the positives instead of focusing on the negatives, it definately makes for much more fun gaming :)

eh, you are talking to druids here. how many of us HAVENT gotten tells or heard oocs about how much so and so hates druids, how we are all quad kiting ksing bastards, etc etc. and we arent talking just in the past week, this has been going on for druids for years. we've even put up with it in guildchat for tunares sake.

dont preach to us about finding the positives in our class. if we didnt already know the positives and love the class, we wouldnt still be here. we would have leveled up another class and retired our druid a long time ago.

PS: visiting a class board and calling locals assinine is not a very good way to open up a conversation =)

What is your intended role? Do you happen to have a statement of purpose from Verant about what the intended roles from druids are? Because I can tell you that everyones intended role for their druid (or other class) is different. My druids intended role is that of a pleveler/porter. My necro is CorpseSummoner.

Whats your druids intended role and why is he/she unable to perorm tasks that SHOULD be siimple?

When was the last time you got laughed at when you /ooc lfg?

When was the last time you got told to go solo or quad something because you dont serve any purpose in groups?

Didnt think so

oh and divine remember this

Do you all realize how assinine you are.

May the words ring true for the messenger – also it’s asinine

Personal Thank you to Rayne over at EQClerics for taking this step and out of Respect I have followed suit and closed the Cleric rants here –
