When foraging some thing from one zone, it's also possible to forage from other zones on the same continent or is it more likly to be found in one zone over an other?

It depends on the zone and on the item you are foraging.

There are some global items that can be found in most all zones and then some items are specific to 1 zone.

It depends on the zone and on the item you are foraging.

And an AA that would allow druids to not pick up particular items when foraging so your packs do not fill up with thousands of roots, vegetables, fruits and berries would be extremely welcome. (or when traveling on Luclin the mushrooms, coins, feathers and so on)
I do not even care if it turns the forage into a 'fail' when it would have selected that particular item.

In fact, it should not even be an AA but an inherent ability...

To clarify for Geanii, what Erianaiel posted is not how forage works. Since PoR, the tradeskill developer has attempted to minimize the "global" items that can be found in the zones and set specific items into each of the zones where appropriate. I think it is a step in the right direction as far as knowing where you can forage something instead of having to guess from a bunch of different zones.

There is an AA for druids/rangers that gives you a chance to forage 2 items at a time. It is useful if you forage a lot, imo. If you want to know more, there has been some talk of this on the EQTC forums as well, in which the dev has actually responded to some thoughts on the crap forages and explained why it is difficult to get around some of the global forages.

Some continents share forage table items (feathers, coins on Luclin). Some share the global items beyond the same continent (berries, fruit, root, pod of water). Velious has some general items that are everywhere then you get to WW/ToV/DN and you will find the wurm/dragon/drake eggs and those are unique to those zones. If you have a specific question on foraging a specific item we can help you find where it is foraged and if it can be found elsewhere or not.

Is it possible to make a hotkey to forage for you, or is that against rules?

Forage is basicaly a hot key anyway. but yes you can move it to one of your regular hot key pages.

Thanks for the response, but I guess I should have been more specific. Can you make a forage hotkey that will automaticaly click the forage button and auto inventory what was foraged and repeat? Say with a pause of (whatever the time is) and repeat?

Many that forage alot tie that into a movement key, like forward or left/right, etc. It does the forage and auto inventory.

If you are talking about a way to not be at your keyboard then no. That would be against the EULA.

Not sure if you could make 2 hot keys. One does the forage, pause and then doability to the other hot key, lol.

Try this link from EQ traders... they discuss variations for a foraging hotkey.

Doablity can't trigger hotkeys, it can only trigger the action window buttons on the panel that has 6 of them. It is not currently possible to set up an infinite loop without an autofire program which is, as mentioned before, against the EULA.

That's right, as Dayuna says, even using the methods discussed on EQ Traders, you'll have to go by your computer every few minutes to trigger the hotkey... which is why, technically, these hotkey methods using only the commands available within EQ are consider okay and within the EULA.

How do you set up the movement keys to forage again? I totally forgot. I know you go to Options/Keys, then add *something* to whichever key you want to use.

Look under the Movement, click on the secondary control of the direction you want to bind forage too, then hit 1,2,3,4... whatever hotbutton forage is on. Viola! Every time you go up/down/left/right and forage is up, it get's used. Great trick also for raising tracking, divination if you get innate camo, and used to be sense heading (they start it capped nowadays).

Thank you all for the response on my question and for the link on eqtraders. :)
