Not being a druid I'm sort of interested as an outsider :physics: But what is the status of Stances with another expansions on the way ?

As always - under development.

IE - Not happening any time soon if at all.

Currently residing in the where are they now file.

The last official word was that stances would be looked at as the final piece of the current class balancing. That being said, class balancing seems to have followed the usual rules of these kind of projects - big fanfare, lots of good intentions but unable to keep the impetus going to see it through to the end.

I personally can't see 'em going in at this point.

I hope they never do go in. The beauty of being a Druid is being flexible. We shouldn't have to choose one stance or another to function effectively. I don't feel broken as is now, though we could stand some tweaking

Quick.... lock this thread and archive.

Uh... before that happens, may I ask if there is a stance to have 50% more cash drop? Better if item drops are 50% better.

Lost me on that one.

I'm a little lost in this thread... I don't even know what stance is at this point or at least how it relates to us... Perhaps I'm still to young a druid...

At risk of turning this thread into a debate, read about them here:

Its 26 pages give or take.

If we could gain the innate ability to forage tacos in any zone that would make me happy.:texla:

I did ask this as a recent QOTW (Question of the Week), since our spell and AA questions were not being answered.

I did get a response: nothing to add to what has already been said.

Question: is the dev work schedule on Druid class somewhat related to the Global Warming
(and/or Armageddon and/or end of Earth or Universe as we know it)?
That would explain some things =)

So as I understand (though none of the threads blatantly stated it) Stances will allow us to enhance certain abilities at the cost of others. Somewhat like original D&D with the magic user class. They had the ability to specialize in one school or another (Elementalist, Enchanter, Necromancer, Wizard - EQ just created separate classes for this) While I have only been with EQ for a little over 2 years I have been in RP gaming for quite a bit longer. When I started I believe AD&D just came out with the Hardcover editions of the Monster Manual, DM's Guide, Dieties and Demons book (forgot the title) and the Player's Guide. God am I really that old???
(Checks the number of RXs sitting on the shelf) Willa here is actually my newest character in the game as far as creation date. (with the exception of my Pally on Combine).

Am I close?

I'll give the short version. I'm sure others that like to type will post as well.

Stances are a way to select (like using a hot-key) one of two 'abilities' (healing or nukeing) to be more powerful at the cost of the other being less powerful.

So you could choose healing to be 25% more powerful or nukeing to be 25%more powerful. But the 'ability' you didn't choose will be 50% less powerful.

This stance will last until you change it with a 5 minute refresh. So you are held in that stance for at least 5 minutes. You can of course NOT choose either stance and be in 'netural'.

I would agree... It really doesn't seem like a very bright idea.

I hate to even keep this thread going but.... oh what the heck

It would be interesting to see what they might came up with. however, I think that even if it was something i liked it would be so buggy to not be worth it.

stances won't happen. it was an idea and I'm sure they will find a way to compensate somehow, i.e. through another expansion's spells/aa.

the work involved in doing this is probably too cost-prohibitive - to delve into old code and institute stance.
