Depleted Uranium is what lets us treat with foreign armor with impunity.

There is yet to be found any armor which can stop DU rounds. And thus, we shall continue using them, as the only major military power (except perhaps Russia, but its not confirmed) which can mass produce DU rounds. It gives us an undeniable and insurmountable advantage in any armored combat.
