Hi Folks,

i am a lv 66 Druid, who stoped playing when GoD and OOW went live, with only 105 AA and none of my lv 66+ spells

i have a few friends on my server who hopefully will help me to fix the spell problems

what i could use now are advices, guides hints what expansions to get in what order, where to solo (root/rot, quad, Charm) where to gain group exp in each of my new levels etc. when answering pls try to keep in mind that i might not have an idea what short names are used for what zone and in which expansion they are ...

atm i own all expansions up to OOW and GoD and also TSS ...

so i need to know what expansions to get in which order f.e. DoD, DoN, PoRo or DoN, DoD, PoRo ... etc :)

thx in advance for any help and hint you are able to give me :)

btw. i am Partly PoTime geared with a few starting trinkets from GoD
6k mana and 5.2k HP

i also could use some info where to get all the port spells (beyond PoP ones) that i am missing :)

Keffiraculix DieFast, Druid, Wanderer, funny guy.

Titanium edition is great for only $19.99 if you can still find it. It has all expansions up to DoDh I believe. You said you already have TSS, so that would be the cheapest route.

Welcome back Keffi! I also left the game after GoD/OoW. They were very unfriendly expansions for non-raiders. I came back a year later and found that SoE did a great deal of work to provide equipment progression for those who solo or play in single groups.

First, check out Palarran's excellent overview of Post-GoD Equipment Paths For Returning Druids (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14363).

Here are the post-OoW expansions and what they offer:

Dragons of Norrath (DoN)

This expansion sends you on multiple missions into instanced zones that net you Crystals as rewards. You can then spend those crystals to buy equipment/augments/spells (similar to LDoN). The crystals are tradable so you can buy them in the Bazaar or multibox and transfer all the crystals earned to one character. You can sell your DoN equipment back for a partial crystal refund when you upgrade. A list of crystal bought items can be found here (http://www.equtilities.com/).

Sample equipment upgrades:

For 340 crystals:
Tanned Dragonhide Leather Vest
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: CHEST
AC: 35
DEX: +12 STA: +12 WIS: +12 AGI: +12 HP: +125 MANA: +120 Endurance: +120
SV FIRE: +13 SV DISEASE: +13 SV COLD: +13 SV POISON: +13
Required level of 70.
WT: 2.7 Size: LARGE
Class: DRU MNK BST
Race: ALL
Slot 1, type 7: empty
Slot 2, type 9: empty

For 680 Crystals:
Radiant Ametrine Garnet
MAGIC ITEM NO TRADE AUGMENTATION
Augmentation type: 9 12
Slot: CHEST LEGS
HP: +40 MANA: +40 ENDUR: +40
SV FIRE: +5 SV DISEASE: +5 SV COLD: +5 SV MAGIC: +5 SV POISON: +5
Required level of 70.
WT: 0.0 Size: TINY
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

And for 285 Crystals you can get your L66+ Focus Effects: Mana Pres V, Improved Damage V, Improved Healing V, etc.

There is also a quest line in DoN that is a mix of solo quests, 1 group quests and a few small raid events. The first raid event, at the end of part 2, is usually a pick up raid so it shouldn't be hard to get if you are not in a raid guild. The reward at the end of Part 2 is your L69 class spell, Serpent Vines (low resist snare). An excellent overview of the DoN quest line can be found here (http://samanna.net/gen.info/prog.don.shtml).

You can also freely solo in the non-instanced zones. Check out our Strats Forum (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/forumdisplay.php?f=12) for DoN solo spots.

DoN quest givers, equipment merchants and entrance zones start in Lavastorn.

Depths of Darkhollow (DoDH)

This expansion resides under the Nektulos Forest. Some gnomes digging underground discovered lost caves full of mushroom folk, werewolves (!!), drachnids and other assorted nasties.

There isn't much solo opportunity here until you get to L70. Then the 69.1 Mission (which is explained below) is prime solo territory. The important things about DoDH for you are:

- Non-visible inventory upgrades: Much of the upgrade loot that drops here are for fingers, ears, waist, etc. And the upgrades are very good. A list of this gear and what missions they drop from can be found here (http://samanna.net/gen.info/prog.dod.shtml).
- Spell Tracks: There is a series of quests you need to finish for the L68, L69 and L70 class spells (3 tracks, 3 spells, total.) Each one of these spells is a new ability for druids:

L68 - Skin of the Reptile (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?p=177181): Short duration buff that has a chance to proc 600pt heal when player is hit.
L69 - Spore Spiral (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?p=177179): Low resist root with knockback.
L70 - Dawnstrike (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?p=177177): 2125pt Fire based nuke with chance to increase your next nuke by 100% or decrease it significantly

These missions are pretty tough and require a full group. A guide to DoDH Spell Tracks can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=12298).

Ports to Undershore can be bought from Brother Hidden Path (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=18991) in Undershore at -920, +750.

OoW spells can be obtained in DoDH as well. Just like OoW runes, DoDH also drops runes that can be turned in for your L66+ spells. List can be found here (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3180). Like OoW runes, L66, 67 & 68 DoDH runes can be bought in the Bazaar, while L69 & 70 are NO DROP off of 1 groupable mobs.

New AAs introduced with this expansion can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=12029).

Prophecy of Ro (PoR)

This expansion revamped Freeport, The Desert of Ro and Oasis of Marr. But the exp zones float above Freeport and can be accessed at the top of the new Academy of Arcane Sciences in Freeport.

Druids can solo well in Arcstone and Elddar Forest.

The best thing about PoR for druids is the armor set. The Tier 1 Armor Set is easily attained with 1 group in Arcstone. Ex:

Woven Bramble Tunic
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: CHEST
Charges: Unlimited
AC: 45
DEX: +15 STA: +22 WIS: +20 AGI: +13 HP: +140 MANA: +155
SV DISEASE: +15 SV COLD: +20 SV POISON: +20
Avoidance: +15 Regeneration: +3 Mana Regeneration: +3
Recommended level of 70. Required level of 68.
Effect: Glitterfrost (Any Slot/Can Equip, Casting Time: 0.8) at Level 68
Recast Delay: 420 seconds, Recast Type: 8
WT: 9.0 Size: LARGE
Class: DRU
Race: ALL
Slot 1, Type 7

Clicky effect: Decrease Hitpoints by 1892

The Tier 2 requires raid level groups in Theater of Blood:

Everliving Bramble Tunic
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: CHEST
Charges: Unlimited
AC: 49
STR: +15 DEX: +10 STA: +15 CHA: +10 AGI: +10 HP: +235 MANA: +275
SV FIRE: +15 SV DISEASE: +20 SV MAGIC: +15 SV POISON: +15
Avoidance: +25 Regeneration: +4 Mana Regeneration: +4
Required level of 70.
Effect: Glitterfrost (Any Slot/Can Equip, Casting Time: 0.8) at Level 70
Recast Delay: 210 seconds, Recast Type: 8
WT: 9.0 Size: LARGE
Class: DRU
Race: ALL
Slot 1, Type 8

Clicky effect: Decrease Hitpoints by 1892

An overview of the new PoR druid armor sets can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=13376).

There are many excellent missions the upgrade some non-visible equipment. Info here (http://samanna.net/gen.info/prog.por.shtml).

New Druid spells for PoR:

L55 Spell Aura of the Grove (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=8929&source=Live): 10pt health regen per tick + 2 disease counter removal per tick, continuous like a bard song
L70 Spell Barkspur (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=8497&source=Live): 210pt damage shield that lasts for 3 ticks
L70 Spell Moonshadow (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=8498&source=Live): 1500pt group heal
L70 Spell Aura of Life (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=8499&source=Live): Upgraded Aura of the Grove, 30pt health regen per tick + 4 disease counter removal per tick

This link (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14185) provides a beginners guide to PoR and walkthroughs to attain all the spells including the new port spells to the area.

The Serpent's Spine (PoR)

This is a L1-75 expansion that explores central Antonica north of Highhold Pass, between Everfrost and Lavastorm. It introduces a new race, Drakkin, that can be druids and armor quests at L20, 45, 70 and 75.

ALOT of the core functionality of the game changed including the ability to regen from zero mana to full mana in three minutes while out of combat. Check out a short overview of game changes here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14379).

This expansion also raises the level cap from 70 to 75. The L71-75 spells ARE PURCHASABLE FROM VENDORS. So you may want to skip any hard to get OoW spells and level up to buy the upgraded spells in TSS. A complete list of new druid spells along with explanation about changes to the spell system and out of combat regeneration can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14376).

New druid AA's can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14377).

New TSS Druid port spell scroll locations can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14387). Note that we now get Translocate spells for TSS destinations.

New Druid Armor sets can be found here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14408).

I'm not sure on the solo viability in the TSS zones yet, but you can check out two threads on the subject here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14471) and here (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/showthread.php?t=14409).

And, finally, visit our Expansions (http://eq.forums.thedruidsgrove.org/forumdisplay.php?f=4) forum for new quests, equipment and other upgrades as players find them. There are currently some excellent threads on a new charm, a new charm aug and a click wolf pet that gives you mana regen and increased dodge.

I have been playing EQ for about 2 years and my highest toon is a level 42 Druid; so you have an idea of how "casual" a player I am.

I have purchased all the expansions but have been somwhat overwhelmed with all the things available and how to get them. I was also reluctant to ask because of not wanting to look like a fool.

This post has to be the most informative as far as expansions and what is available in them.

Thank you very much for posting this Ruadh!!!

Good stuff!!

Wow, thanks for the great post, I haven't played in a year but I've been trying to get back for a bit now. Finally getting here and was really overwhelmed by what I've missed since I quit, this post has put it in perspective and I've a great idea on where to start at. Thanks for taking the time to do the post and I'm glad to hear so many of my fellow druids actually excited about game content in an xpansion. :wiggle:

Just a question... do you plan on adding TBS and SoF to this thread? There were alot of good upgrades to equipment and spells in TBS so I was just wondering if someone was going to add that to this thread?

Thanks!

Here I guess since it is stickied and many of the information is outdated, I will add some.

Seeds of Destruction will add all expansions enabled, but, it is digital download only from Sony. It features the mercenary, an NPC that follows you around while draining your money supply, in the tank and healer variety, which will help in your alternate abilities as well as your leveling process. Currently, there is no alternate way of advancing your merc in Tiers.

For those Druids or any other class looking to comeback and catch up, Sony introduced the global drops of defiant armor and weapons as well. Defiant armor will drop off appropriate level mobs, aka 50-60 mobs will drop intricate defiant, as an example, and they move up in tiers. Another way to catch up, is global researching pages for your spells. Caster mobs will drop spell components of the level range you are fighting them. A level 69 caster mob will drop eventually, a level 69 spell component and so on. Which reduces the need of going to Omens of War, and so on, and allowing you to play in appropriate content for your level.

I will also kick in this link. It's a pretty good wiki based explanation of the latest expansion. It has a gear link in it for the latest.
