The show 'Heroes' has blown me away :) . It's been a while since a TV show has caught my interest this way. Lost is Ok. Firefly was great, but Heroes is better.

I'm sure many (most?) of you have watched it. If not, check it out. The show's concept is simple. A bunch of folks have different superpowers - flight, teleportation, time travel, reading minds, regeneration, absorbing others powers, predicting the future etc. Throw in a bad guy or two, good acting and a good plot and you have a winner.

Yeah! Me too. It caught my interest right away. Only thing I don't like is the Indian guys neighbor, I didn't like her acting at all.

I love the Japanese guy. Isn't he great?

Yeah, Hiro is awesome. Great show so far, I need to go watch the third episode though =-( I like the cheerleader girl and Niki as well, they're both fun.

Well, it can't compete with Firefly for me but I do like Hiro, Matt and Mohinder on the show. The cheerleader kind of freaks me out ;).

I watched the entire first episode and most of the second. The third one just lost me so much that I only watched about 20 minutes of it. I simply do not understand some of it. What is with that chick that sees herself in the mirror all the time?

That just confuses the hell out of me... and it seems to be dragging... I want to know more faster!!

I like the Hiro, and the cheerleader, and of course the dude that can fly. But I need to know more about the drug addict guy and wtf is going on with that chick that keeps seeing herself do different stuff in the mirror!!

LOL

The chick in the mirror is a Jekyll/Hyde, Banner/Hulk character.

The drug addict guy can foretell the future in his sketches and paintings.

I keep missing the shows...but I have them on my puter waiting for me to find time to watch them.

The only show I've been motivated to try and catch at the right time is Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

I'm a huge fan of Aaron Sorkin after the West Wing

The drug addict dude sees the future and paints it, but only when he is high I guess.

You know, I caught about 5 minutes of that show only knowing that Matthew Perry was on it. The show immediately reminded me of West Wing. Now I know why.

I'm really looking forward when this show comes to the UK. Also been told that something called "Dexter" is worth looking out for, anyone seen that ?

I've watched some of it. It's a Showtime show, which means they can go with the gruesome stuff. The main character is played by Michael C. Hall, who played David Fisher on Six Feet Under.

It's sort of an interesting show just because the main character isn't exactly a good guy. A friend when hearing of the show said "So he's a nerdy Punisher?" which is kinda accurate =-p He's not going around slaughtering nice people, but he's not exactly nice himself. James Remar as his dad is great too, and also pretty disturbing lol. Not really sure it's one I'll keep watching, but it was a fun show for sure.

Ok... another very strange episode. I really liked the scene where the cheerleader got off the autopsy table and hid, then left after the medical examiner came back and the medical examiner is looking at the empty table and the door snicks shut. I could just imagine being that poor ME.

Hmmm... I just now noticed that Hiro's name is a ... uh what do you call it when two words sound alike?

Here's Hiro's blog: http://blog.nbc.com/hiro_blog/

LOL!

Oh man, episode four was awesome. I'm so looking forward to more. Much love for Hiro. And that blog is really cool, and a fun idea, very fitting for him too I think. Though Hiro has to be a really problematic character from a story point of view. He's essentially omnipotent if you think about it.

I use to watch Hogan's Heroes when I was a kid.

Is this a remake?

DemonMage
10-21-2006, 02:01 AM
Set in a prisoner of war camp during World War II, Hogan's Heroes is lightly based on the play/film, "Stalag 17." Hogan's Heroes focuses on the exploits of five main prisoners of war (Hogan, LeBeau, Newkirk, Carter & Kinchloe (replaced by Baker in the last season) who while "under the cover" of being typical prisoners of war are really secretly doing their utmost to sabotage the German war effort through whatever means necessary. They communicate regularly with the outside (Allied HQ, underground movement); easily move throughout the camp and outside to town by using one of their numerous tunnels and; have all the munitions and uniforms to do pretty much as they please.

Heroes is a serial saga about people all over the world discovering that they have superpowers and trying to deal with how this change affects their lives. {snip} Not only are they discovering what having superpowers means to them but also the larger picture of where their superpowers come from. Eventually their superpowers draw them together when they try to evade the series' antagonist who wants to harness their super-DNA for himself. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world.

You tell me =-p

Except he only seems to be able to stop time for a few seconds at a time. But yeah, he is pretty powerful.

Well, at the end of episode four he can clearly do it for more than a few seconds -- there's no particular reason that Hiro couldn't stick around in theory. He was actually doing it for a good 30+ seconds at the tables. He seems to be mastering it pretty quickly really.

[Edit] Ahh okay, the blog says 20 seconds is his limit for Vegas Hiro.

Hmmm... last night's episode confused me! The blonde lady is evil?!?!

I did like the plot twist though, the "neighbor" turning out to be a spy.

I agree Panamah - and every episode seems to be even more confusing!! Its getting very frustrating. Although I must admit I am falling more and more in love with the Indian doctor guy... what a hottie!!

So... does the cheerleader's dad know about her or not? I still cant figure that out - and is he a good guy or not? They portray him as the bad guy - but he could have easily killed that quarterback but chose not to.

What about DL? Is he the same guy that "hollows out" the other people? And they didn't show the cop that can read people's thoughts at all in this last episode!!

So confusing!! But I am definately hooked and can't wait until Monday nights now!

Yeah, he's gorgeous. :) Although, I'd take the mind-reading cop over him, for obvious reasons. I think the guy running for senate is hot too.

The cheerleader's father is an enigma. They're painting him to be evil but my analytical side suspects that plot will twist.

Anyone else think that the Senator's brother will turn out to be able to do the super-hero power of the person he's around?

DemonMage

Peter's power definently is being able to use the power of those around him. It's not spelled out, but it's moderately obvious from his experiences so far.

DL clearly isn't the psychic guy, he has the ability to become intangible. Though my girlfriend and I were discussing if it was at the end of the episode before last.

Girlfriend called the evil neighbor girl though. I wasn't too sure on it at first, but once they got into Sylers apartment and then came back and everything was gone, I was with her on that one.

Also the dad most definently knows about the cheerleader. He has seen the tape, he works for some shadow agency, and those were not her actual biological parents he called in.

Nikki isn't evil, in a sense anyways, I think. She's got the dual personality thing going on... or possibly another being inside of her, as she doesnt seem to have super-strength normally. It's possible the other side is just her repressed anger and such, ala Hulk with a more evil bent.

This season is really good, a lot of good shows on. Though a few of the ones I like arn't doing so hot with ratings it seems =-( At least Heroes is getting super high ratings.

See I missed one episode - the one when the cheerleader was "killed" so I didnt realize the dad had seen the tape.. so makes sense that he does know. I also dont remember them going to Sylers apartment. Nikki still confuses me - her "evil" side is reminscent of the Hulk.

I cannot wait until MONDAY!!

I agree...I think that what's his name...the wicked evil super-dude, is going to go after cheerleader. In fact, I think Daddy-O is only doing what he's doing already, in an attempt to find a way of defeating Super Villain guy. (I'm so bad with names lol)

Oh, I've seen them all now, and I'm aware of all their powers and whatnot...I just suck with names =P Including in real life.

Hell, I've argued with you on here, in a text format, for years now...and if I couldn't go back and read how to spell your name, I'd be spelling it Teana, Taene, Teanane, etc. etc. =P

Ok, this last episode has me confused.

Nathan, the candidates, wife is in a wheelchair and it seems like we're supposed to know what happened to her. But I can't recall seeing her before. Anyone else?

Also, I couldn't make out what the cop's wife thought that so upset him.

Stormhaven
11-07-2006, 03:39 AM
Easy...

Apparently Nathan had a car wreck (I'm gonna just guess that alcohol was probably involved - they like to use it in TV series) which was his fault, and it caused the paralysis.

The cop's wife was thinking "Oh god, he knows" - which started the whole "cheating on him" thing.

I guess we also found out what/who explodes and causes the NYC nuke. I sort of think that Silas might be too straightforward and so I'm going to guess that they'll throw in the curve ball of Peter trying to control Silas and then losing control of the power and thus causing the explosion - or at least, that's what Hiro or the painter will eventually see in the future.

Panamah
11-07-2006, 11:21 AM
Thanks.

I must have missed a past reference to the car wreck. I thought the way they introduced it into the plot was clumsy.

Thanks for filling in the missing lines. I figured it was something like that from what the other cop said.

Anyone notice Sulu's license plate on his limo/car?

Hiro's dad being Sulu makes him even cooler, imo!
