A guy deliberately crashed his car while being car-jacked.

It's weird because I've thought about doing this. I lived in Phoenix in the late 90's and car jackings were out of control and that was my plan if I got car jacked. It's kind of like I had the plan of timing my jump in an elevator if the cord ever snapped. I saw that idea worked out really well on Myth Busters lol. I am super parnoid and I am always thinking of what I would do in a sudden disaster.

Wow. It was good thinking. I hope the elderly couple weren't seriously hurt.

There was one time in my life where I wondered if I would have to do something similar after I picked up a hitchhiker. It turned out to be a false alarm.

I would've driven into the ditch or into a tree. I actually had the plan formulated.

(A helicopter hovering over the road on a very remote stretch of road made we wonder if the authorities were searching for the hitchhiker I had picked up. Turns out the helicopter was dropping supplies for a winter seismic program searching for natural gas.)

It was definitely a ballsy move but choosing to crash into an occupied vehicle seems kinda silly when there were telephone poles and trees along the edge of the street.

I thought the same thing, Klath.

There was a short story I read once about a guy that got carjacked and he was scaring the crap out of the carjacker by saying he was going to end his life anyway, might as well take someone with him. Wish I could remember who the author was.

Deadlier Weapon, The (#29) The Shape of Space, Convergent Series

Summary: Car jacking is a thing of the nineties, but this story (originally written back in the sixties) shows us something that many victims forget, you are in control of the deadliest weapon. Larry claims that it didn't acutally happen to him and the idea for the story occured to him whilst driving one day on a freeway.

Once again proving that EVERYTHING is now on the internet.
