Oh yeah baby! I've daydreamed about this for decades!

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. scientists say the current wondrous electronic age might soon be viewed as quaint by a generation freed of the use of electrical cords and plugs.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology team says it has used the physics of electromagnetic fields to propose a theoretical net that could wirelessly power electronic gadgets at distances of many feet.

Sounds like an electrocution hazard.

NASA was giving out a prize for broadcast power projects. I wonder if this guy gets to win that.

It's a government plot to mess with electrical impulses in the brain. Instead of hamsters, brain electricity will be used to power the national grid. Where's Swiftfox??

ore seriously, this technology is useful but only in limited circumstances. Small electronic gadgets don't use much energy, and are good candidates for cordless operation using electromagnetic fields. It's not terribly new though. Conceptually, it's little different from cordless radio/cell phone signals or solar/light powered calculators.
