Did you see the OCC Eragon bike? They just showed the final yesterday. I don't generally follow the show, but I have to admit, that was a damn slick bike (upon which if I were riding, I would immediately fall over and impale myself on many of the sharp stabby points).

Yeah but the question is.....for those of who are married can we drag our wives to see it and is it worth the price of having to see a "Chick Flick" later on in trade :)

Well, the person who told me about it was a young 20 something hottie, if that helps you out. She's got a little overbite, but her eyes are hypnotic.

Is this based on those old fantasy novels about the Dragon Riders of Pern (or something like that?) I think I read those when I was a kid.

No, those were the Anne McCafferey books (before she went slightly off her rocker and handed her legacy to her son to butcher). The Eragon series is a new book series targeted towards teens/tweens. It started roughly a few years after the Harry Potter books were gaining speed.

What has really propelled the series seems to be that the author is a teen. He wrote the first book at age 15.
I haven't read them, they may be very good, but a large part of their sales is because of news coverage of the kid heh.

When I saw the commercial the first time I thought it might be a Pern movie, then they said Eragon. I've never heard of that. Watching more commercials it reminds me of the flop called Dungeons and Dragons movie.
The trail didn't suggest that the plot, acting, and scripts would be so dreadful. There might be hope for it. Then again, the trailer didn't suggest the plot, acting, and scripts were particularly brilliant either.
I hope all the fantasy loving grovers are going to seek out Pan's Labyrinth at the cinema?
