As of the August 26th patch I have not been able to log into game. I have Windows XP, AMD Athalon 1800 and my computer far surpasses the reqs to play EQ. I have played fine for 3 years. I get to the character select screen and click "enter world" and the screen goes black for 3-5 min and then crashes to the screen before the Log In screen that has the hotbuttons that say account, billing, options, etc. except for when it crashes to this screen the buttons are gone and I just got a big EQ graphic of the darn highelf chic on my screen (as of the LDoN live date its the highelf, before that it was the frog). I have searched the Knowledge database endlessly on Sony and have spoken with EQ tech tons and have done everything I have been told....deleted UIchar files, restart comp/rerun patch, delete the zones my chars are in and restart comp/rerun patch, remove QoS from Windows, restart comp/rerun patch, disable sound on comp and in options, restart comp/rerun patch. Disabled firewall, and deleted some other files Tech told me to and restarted comp/reran patch. I have tried to access my other accounts chars and my sisters accounts chars on my computer and have the same problem. I have completely reformatted my C Drive. All thats left is to finish reinstalling EQ. Does anyone have any of the problems that I am having? Since the 26th patch in the chat room on the server select screen there has been approximately 20 peeps that have the same problem as me and no one gives answers there or through tech support that are working. All I can think of now is that it's a possible server/router problem. I live in Phoenix, AZ btw. Pls post if anyone can suggest anything that I haven't tried. Thanks

A router problem sounds like a reasonable cause.

No doubt you've been suggested this 1000 times, but if not - disable any firewalls and try it...

Last time something like this happened to me, I decided to reinstall EQ from scratch (copy the old directory first for ini files and such). It's not fun, and not really practical if you're on dial-up, but as a last resort could help.
