I've seen a lot of fakes in the past, and this is the first news item related to FF7 followups that I actually (within reason) believe. Unlike others, this one is *stated* to be true on all the above - highly reputable - sites. I know eyesonff at least are extremely careful about checking the validity of any news before posting it.

Apart from that, it looks an extremely difficult fake to make.

Okay, you say it's a DVD movie, not a game. How then would it be a Final Fantasy 7 sequel? Wouldn't it be a Final Fantasy sequel? As in... Final Fantasy 1, the first movie, and not the seventh movie (non-existant)?

I certainly hope they don't get Lance Bass to do Sephiroth's voice again... :)

Bah, don't be picky :P "Sequel" is perhaps the wrong word, maybe a more appropriate word would be "follow-up" or, given the open ending of the game, "conclusion".

Also if you're counting movies, it'd be the second. Spirits Within was the first.

Bringing Seph back seems cheesy, hope they don't do the same with Aerith - at least without a damn good storyline...

BTW this looks to be not exactly a DVD movie but not exactly a game either. In fact Square are not sure how to deliver it! The nearest translation to what was mentioned is "visual content".

It's *not* FFVII-2 apprently, it just happens to be a follow-up based on FFVII. Who knows, it might be a taster for a possible game FFVII-2 though...
