I'm not off Irish descent, and I do exactly what Pan does - guess we have more in common than we thought ;)

Get drunk. Use a taxi. Drunk and disorderly, public intoxification, lewd conduct, indecent exposure, suspicion of mischief(damn leperchauns, cops never buy it), the typical holiday festivities above of course. Did you know that pinching people is third degree assault? I didn't, until charged with it.And where you pinch them too..... some girls didn't like that, and their boyfriends and husbands didn't either. All huffy over a purple nerple sheesh.....

What's the point of making a whole "special day" thingy if it's just going to be like any old regular Saturday?

What's the point of making a whole "special day" thingy if it's just going to be like any old regular Saturday?Because it often falls on a weekday and gives people an excuse to get drunk in the middle of the week.

Because that's what everyone does on a holiday of course! Saturdays are usually hockey night with the Nashville Predators! And shaking my booty at the club later with all the girls. No time for drinking on Saturdays.... So gotta keep the judicial process supported using holidays, with evil little shenagins, that are relativity harmless, to keep the judicial economy going, I am on strike for jurors though they need a pay raise from $20 dollars a day!

Dunno Preds knocked off the wings Saturday, think they are 3-1 in the series this year with 4 games to go with the wings, I had the pleasure of seeing the Wings get drubbed 6-2 earlier in the season. Preds have been slumping since the all star break but still hanging on for the presidents cup. Honestly though, I would like the preds to go very deep in the stanley cup if not win it outright. Reason being with our seats not selling out often(usually only the Red wings vs. preds sell out due to the Michigan fan base from companies like Saturn), being one of the best teams in the NHL, playoffs for the last three years might as well say 4 years including this one. So, they are talking of moving, due to to money issues.

It would sadden me alot to lose my team, but, there is alot of competition in Nashville for sports between the other pro and college teams, with a more established fan base, and the fan base isn't as hockey friendly in an area where the Sec and NFl rules supreme. Case in point, the Tennessee Titans, last three seasons have been losing ones, yet it is still selling out a 69,000 person stadium.

Unless your scottish lineage is very deep there is a good chance you got some Irish mixed with that scotch.

Yet my statement both answers the question and remains true. I don't see the point.

Columbus is having similar money issues..the only games they sell are Wings games, because all of the Columbus hockey fans grew up as Wings fans...of course they are compounding their problems by sucking horribly.

I've always liked the Predators...I found their method of dealing with the abundence of Wings Jerseys at their stadium during Wings games to be both novel, amusing, and extremely classy (for those unaware...there is a large contingent of Wings fans in Nashville due to Michiganders being transferred down there for the Auto industry, and other reasons...early in the Predators franchise, Wings games would sell out...and the stands would be awash in the White and Red of the Wings...so the Predator's franchise offered even up trades of Predators fan gear for Wings fan gear, jerseys hats shirts etc. The Predators then boxed up all the Wings gear and donated it to inner city detroit children).

Man, I haven't been to Nashville in too long. I love that city. Nashville and then shoot on up to Centerville Lake for some houseboating, sea-dooing, and the best damn restaurant grits on the planet.

They still do that. And the stands are rather interesting still. Whenever a Red Winger scores the crowd roars, whenever the Preds Scores there is a roar. The game is always really physical, lots of checking. Athough on either side the refs let some of the questionable checks go, when there should be a penalty on either side. They also take a video camera to the red wings fans and put up a preds jersey over the top of the wings jersey.

And when you see Tootoo hit the ice someone is going to be hit hard, and a nice fight will ensue, or someone looks at Vokoun/Mason and Hasek wrong.... Paul Kariya.... Chelious(sp)......... They have quite a new rivalry going. But not as bad as the Jackets and Preds have allittle more quietly.

That is a problem as well. Especially, with smaller market teams, the Preds and Jackets. Jackets are not actually that bad, they just are not winning for some reason..... The Preds problem is they are one of the best teams in the Nhl right now, but we just are not selling out, which is a shame really, they have a great show on the ice and off as well. Part of that is due to the local media, they will talk for 30 minutes(not kidding), about the Titans or the UT Vols, but, only 10 seconds of oh, by the way preds won 5-2. Alot of it would be more national exposure, NBC, More Versus, not just Fox sports south every other game.

One thing I do like about that though, with a smaller more intimate show.... the Preds, the dancers, most of them know mebyname now, some even know more about their fans on a more personal level, how's your wife coming along with the kiddo, etc.... We are like one big family.
