i'm helping my boyfriend make a CD portfolio and we want to add a movie in it that will automatically play (when you click on a link)

without becoming a javascript goddess in the next 10 minutes, help! how?!

Make it into a shockwave flash link and simple popup movie player?

I think if you just put in a link to your .avi or whatever, it'll simply popup and play it when you click on it, if you have a player for it.

Assuming you turned you CD portofolio (just pictures?) into an avi file using something like the Microsoft movie maker software or something?

thanks guys...we decided to not try to make an html interface to his files...

can't do avi because that doesn't play well on a mac (he's a graphic designer, hence the cd's gotta be mac compliant 100%)...and .mov's just don't automatically play...

bleh...but thanks again. =)

and .mov's just don't automatically play

I know this is probably late.

You can embed .movs in html.

There are tons of ways to auto run html pages. Tiane mentioned only one way.

Actually I think you can embed .movs in flash now, makes it even easier.

You can make flash movies exe's incase you did not know, which could even be autoruned by puttin into the cd tray.

Like I said, probably too late, but there are way to do just about everything you can think of.

Story has an even better ending (although a lot more work)...

The graphics department manager was out of the office on Friday, so boyfriend borrowed a copy of Dreamweaver and is now creating an incredible html-based presentation this weekend - it's pretty slick (still lots to do on it).
