Ok, this is cute. I have a cat that will actually go into the wicker basket where I keep his toys and he'll drag something out of it to play with. Generally it's a string. Although I've had to give over a few cloth covered rubber bands for pony-tails, because he loves those too. Usually it's in the wee hours when I'm sleeping. I'll get up the next day and find he's fished something out.
His other cute thing is his tug-of-war behavior. He's like a dog with a bone. Sometimes we'll be playing chase the string. He'll finally capture it and get a good grip on it with his mouth. Then he backs up, trying to pull the string away from me. If I let him, which I always do, he'll continue to back up, dragging the string. Finally he'll turn around and drag the string somewhere "safe" so he can sit on it for a bit and gloat over his victory, or at least until I take it away from him again.

My cat climbs up on the couch so he can drink out of the aquarium, which is next to the couch. The aquarium has a lid on it, but where the pump/filter runs water in it's like a water fountain for him. Not sure why he does that because we give him fresh water all the time. Maybe he likes fish flavored water :)
We tried moving the couch further from the aquarium (as far as we can), but now he stretches way out so he can still reach it.

I see my stupid cats drinking out of dirty puddles outside totally ignoring the bowl of fresh water.
I did get them to stop drinking out of the toilet by putting a water bowl in the bathroom. I guess that proves they don't actually prefer the taste of toilet bowl water...

One of my cats goes absolutely nuts over the little pieces of plastic they wrap around the top of one gallon milk jugs. He'll bat it around and chase it for hours. If he gets it in his head I'm not doing anything worthwhile (like sleeping), he'll come over and stand on me with the thing in his mouth. I made the mistake of throwing it one time and he now it's his favorite game. Little bastard. I think I'll get him fixed again.

All my cats have had weird issues with water. Any water is of course preferable to the water in their bowl. Spilled some water on the floor? The cat comes running. She also likes to run into the bath after I've taken a shower and drink the water in the bathtub. And, of course, I can't leave a glass of water sitting on the counter unguarded for long, before it becomes a kitty drink.

This is the cheapest best toy for cats :) both mine love em it's just hard now to find milk that actually has a ring on the jug and not a tear away plastic strip. Another thing mine love when I can stand the racket is tossing a ping pong ball into an empty bathtub. They will run circles in the tub chasing the thing
About water one of my cats is extremely finiky and will only drink bathroom water  If the bowl in the kitchen is full but the one in the bathroom is empty he'll cry till I refill the bathroom one completly ignoring the bowl in the kitchen.

Mine aren't so crazy over the rings, but I do have one that LOVES to get in the tub at times and run around. It makes quite a racket and he knows I'll get out of my chair and come see what he's up to.
Another one got in the habit of sitting in front of the shower and giving me sad looks until I ran it, so he could lap up the water from the bottom of the shower stall. He'd patiently wait while I was in the shower. I think he liked water that was slightly soapy.
They're weird, aren't they? :)

Wasps, Flys, Ants you name it, that crazy thing will attack them all, then try to eat them. :X:X:X

aww, com'on Tils...you know you love it =)
y cat Nicky has recently decided that laying on me is a good thing - not just my lap, mind you...but on me.
Waking up in the morning with a kitty nose 2cm from yours is a little distressing at first...then trying to breathe, well...he's so cute though =)
I'm also watching a cat for a friend. Poor guy, alone all day - I try to hang out for a while, give him petties and play with him for a bit. When I walk around my friend's house, the cat twines himself around my legs. I've never had a cat do that - sort of annoying and scary - I'm either gonne trip or step on or kick the damn cat!

My 2 cats are talkers. They meow "talk" endlessly. When they were young it seemed something was always wrong. However now it seems we've an understanding of all the different meanings of meow, meeeeow, meoooooow, maw, mew, mow, mmmmmmmmmmmoew, and of course the MMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWW. =D.
y black siamse is named Mao (yes he named himself). Told me first hand what his name was. Mao is indonesion for cat btw. He repeats his own name all day long so you won't forget it.
y medium americal long hair is Pete (short of Pita... short for Pain in the Ass).
Both cats are very large cats (18ish lbs), and not at all fat. These cats are all muscle, very fast and I kid you not, they beat up on the neighbor dobermenpincher.
Their mother, (a german shepard) named Nike kept close tabs on her "babies". Since they were kittens, Nike mothered them and kept them safe. Taught them how to sit, and stay, and of course fetch. Neither cat has any fear of dogs which confuses the hell out of dogs. Dogs want to chase cats, but my cats chase dogs.
Both cats are acrobats. Can leep into the air do a backflip and catch anything that makes the mistake of flying overhead. My house is 100% bugless. Once in a while I'll find a nice bug outside and bring it in to watch the many hours of torment and woodfloor hockey the 2 cats play. It's amazing how long they can keep a legless, wingless bug alive for pure amusment. All I can say is, be thankful you're not a bug.
Water.... water is a funny thing. Especially when cats have a dogs mentality about it. Bathtubs! You bet, while the water is ON. So be carefull while washing your hair with your eyes closed. Nothing is more freaky then a cat jumping in and licking your toe.
BTW. solution to cats that like the toilet bowl water is CLOSE THE FUKING LID. Thanks! As much as women hate it when guys leave the seat up I hate it when women don't close the top lid! GAWRRGRRRG..
Having woodfloors and nice rugs throughout the house is the kitty playground. No rug in the house remains in 1 location for long. The house *IS* a racetrack after all. Running and sliding is hours of enjoyment, especially late at night when the house is dark and everybody asleep. Damn herd of elephants clopping across the floor then swiiiiiiiiish. and THUD into the walls..... /sigh
Oh for those that like "techy toys" and have cats. Get yourself Lego robotics and that Lego AT-AT Star Wars walker. =D. I've built a couple "tanks" with motion sensors that chase cats, as well as a lego robot mouse. =D.

I heard of someone once that had a cat that would eat ants. Must've gotten fond of the acid they secret or something. Anyway, I wish I could train my cat to eat those little Argentine ants that plague us in So. CA.
I do have one cat that will eat June bugs. Which I heartily condone! I hate those things.

Sorry, Trevize, that's only kinda-large. I have a black DSH with yellow eyes. I thought I was getting a full grown cat when I picked him. But no, he was a kitten. I stopped weighing him when he hit 25 pounds, just too hard to pick up. He was a little chubby at that point. I think 20-22 pounds for him would be good. Now he's older and has a heart condition and weighs 19 pounds and looks thin to me.
Anyway after Taboo reached full size and then some, I got my siamese who weighed at the time about 4 pounds and was a bitty kitten, 8 weeks old. Taboo, the big black cat, could just about put his entire mouth over Indy's (the siamese's) head. Used to scare me to see those two play together, but Taboo was such a good substitute parent for Indy. In fact... Indy used to try to nurse on Taboo and Taboo would patiently lay there letting him. But that all stopped when Indy got to be around a year old, Taboo wouldn't let him do it any more.
One time, when I lived in an apartment, I let the cats into the courtyard to wander for a bit. Well, Indy, the smaller siamese, aggro'd a bison friche or something about that size. Anyway, Indy trained the dog back to my apartment where Taboo was waiting. Taboo puffed himself up and the dog saw him and must've thought he'd run into a demon or something. He took off yipping in utter panic. I thought I'd die laughing.
Then Indy loved to hang out at the front windows. I lived on the bottom floor and there were steps right in front of those windows going to the upper story. There was one lady that was always jogging up/down those stairs. Indy would leap onto the screen like he was trying to catch her. It was hilarious! But she'd nearly have heart failure when he did it.

Heh. Well, having 7 cats, they do some pretty funny stuff :D
The one, Mew, he's a black and white cat, he'll just lay there, like nothing is going on, but if you walk by him, he'll quickly pounce on your achillies and bite the crap out of the back of your ankle :D He's so crazy. hehe, its fun having people over who dont know he does that...MUAHAH! They get so scared lol.
Another of my cats, Smokey, he's just a big fat barn cat :D He'll come up and rub up next to your legs if your standing there, but the funny part is he doesnt like being pet('d?) hehe, so, he can rub on you, but ya cant pet him. ANyway, he does allow you to like, totally grab his head..What I mean is, he'll act like he wants you to scratch behind his ear, then he'll just put all the weight in his body in your hand, through his head. He'll just collapse into your hand :D
Hmm, who else does funny things...
Oh, Puffin' Stuffin' (Hehe, not a drug ref, just a cute fluffy name) she's a barn cat, grey and white, she'll run totally sideways on the sides of the horse stalls. I mean, it's so funny, she can run sideways on wood...its so cool. SHe'll do it for like 50 feet too. She goes all the way down the barn then back. hehe.
Hmm...I have more, but I have to go :D

y cat goes nuts over a piece of partially straightened out Paper-clip. I don't know where he found it, but one day he was going nuts running all over the house playing with something, when I found out I was worried he may poke an eye out or something, but it is the only "toy" that he has had that he will play with. So far everything I have bought him gets left whereever I place it.
He also has a fetish for hands. He just loves to attack them. I'm pretty sure he knows that there is a person attached, but move a hand out in front of his face and you'll have his attention.
