Am I the only one having this problem? During gameplay, for no apparent reason, EQ will either jump into windowed mode or just auto-minimize itself, maybe once every hour or two. It happens on two systems which I know are stable.
Is this a known problem and is there a known fix for it?
Not happening here...
Have any programs which open windows running in the background?

Not happening here, but as of 2 patches ago my client crashes atleast 2 times per play session. And my computer will sometimes just randomly reboot if I've been sitting in trader mode for a while.

Yrys says:
Have any programs which open windows running in the background?[/quote]No, nothing. Just some stuff in the system tray like MBM5 (temperature monitoring utility), Nvidia desktop thingy, Nforce audio control panel, volume control, and Pop-Up Stopper. I've had these for ages though and they shouldn't create windows, steal focus, or do anything rude to the OS. Pretty lean install of Win2K too, on both systems.
If no one here has ever seen this happen I guess I'll just keep digging to find out what's causing it.

It's usually a sign of a hardware problem (overheating CPU, bad memory, video card problem), bad/buggy drivers, or a generally borked OS. EQ might just be the catalyst by stressing the CPU and video hardware. Is the system otherwise stable (e.g., runs the Torture Test of Prime95 for 24 hours without an error and several hours of looped 3DMark 2001 SE)?

I haven't had the auto-minimizing thing, but a guildmate was having the same problem about a week ago.
Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge the problem remains for him so I can't suggest a possible fix.

I could swear I've had temperature monitoring pop open and cause my EQ to minimize on one of my systems. I'd be suspicious of that.

I had this happen to me the other day, its was most disconcerting. But, it hasn't happened again.
