View Full Forums : Hey - getting back into it

I'm going to "try" and get back into EQ. I am currently level 71, 1100ish AA's, and anguish geared. I'm looking for the fastest route possible to level up to 75 and get some new AA's.

I'm also lazy and don't feel like reading 3 years worth of messages on "what's new" in all the expansions that have come up.

So if any one would like to be so kind as to give me some quick jump start info that would be great!

Also, I'm playing on Fennin Ro now. When I stepped down as guild leader of Cats in Hats to be a more casual player I also moved servers. I lost my name in the transition as well cause there's a warrior named Trevize on Fennin. grrrrrrr jerk!

A good number of people kite either in Icefall, Direwind or Katta Casturm.

Kitting in Icefall and Direwind will give you a random chance to obtain level 71-73 Rank II spells.

Kitting at the Greenhouse in Katta Casturm will give you access to Combine Merchant faction, and thus the Rank II spells from TBS. You can run the Serpent Slayer Quest and the Herb Retrival quest at the same time, and work faction that way. You will need to either purchase or do mission for the Orum to purchase the spells.

Groupwise, Valdehom, Ashengate and Frostcrypt are fairly popular, with other people doing TBS missions.

Trevize wasnt a hobbit, he was a wood elf!

Unless that was some sort of private joke!

I did from just into level 70 all the way to 75 (on my wiz) whilst doing the Jonas hand aug in TBS (zone). Lots of reds/yellows to kill and none too hard really.

I've enjoyed kiting near the pyramids in Jewel, off Katta if you want a change of scenery also.

Well been playing a bit...

Leveling is slow.......... heh. Playing at best once a week. Sometimes once every 2 week. Doing bears mostly when solo and basically anything when I manage a group. I find getting a group a bit easier then it used to be. However, being available to group when watching my newborn son poses obvious troubles. Finally got level 73.

So I noticed something at a raid last night... when did druids get a familiar? I've searched around and don't see a spell and going through all my AA's I didn't see it there either. What am I missing?

There are quests in TSS for familiars (not spells, but clicky items). I can't remember the details offhand.

found it!

As far as I know, there are a total of four clicky familiars that we can get. Two of them are only available during certain times of the year, though. (They've been making past Halloween and Anniversary quests available every year now, so I expect those quests to be doable again in the future.)

Goblin familiar, always available:

Only available around Halloween:

Only available around April:

If its what i am thinking of, it is a quest doen in direwind or icefall? It is a totem that gives people familiars.

**edit .... guess it would have helped to read page 2 before posting =D**
