Hey guys -

If you're a frequent serverwide.druidsgrove visitor and you continue to have problems with certain players (you know who I'm talking about), please remember to /report and /petition every time they cause problems. I am in contact with a GM and we are working towards a resolution, but, using tonight's problems as an example, he let me know that only one person bothered to do a /report.

If the content of the conversation bothers you to a point where it makes you uncomfortable, please don't take these people off ignore just for this.

However, that being said, if you visit the channel on a nightly basis I need a couple of volunteers to send me the logs when the griefing happens from these certain players - my EZBoard messaging is turned on, or you can find my email through my webpage link on my sig.

Mods, please make sure to do things by the book, give the players warnings, ask them to leave, kick them, and if they keep coming back to cause problems, please let me know.

Thanks

I would like to start visiting this channel and was wondering if someone could help me out a little with a couple of pointers for what is 'ok' to talk about.

I have never been in the channel but all the talk of problems has me a little paranoid. I have been getting the impression that the 'joking and banter' that I am used to in other channels that I am on, may not be acceptable in DG channel. Is it a 'chat' type channel or should we be limiting ourselves to only specific topics? I would like to contribute and talk to other druids but I would hate to be considered a 'nuisance' or a 'spammer' for just being my usual talkative self.

Please don't flame me...this is a serious question, I really would like to know what is appropriate before I join in.

I own and have a team of mods that run coercer and enchanter serverwides, and occasionally we have this same issue. Its VERY important that you report AND petition these people, especially the repeat offenders, along with asking them to stop in channel. Gm's can and will take action they feel is warranted. Most serverwides are passworded, and even if lots know the PW, its still a private channel and unless its the illfated serverwide.cyber or similar ilk people did not come in there and consent to hear some of the dribble borderline harrasment people are perpetuating in there.

well, what is not appropiate?

I would say profanity, rasist statements or other harassing messages. I would guess a good rule would be that if it could be posted on TDG then it is fair game for the chat channel. That would probably not include the unkempt section of this board though.

Oh I forgot to add that I sent you last night's logs. Check your PM box on EZ board.

Nothing offends me, so like... tell me if you need something /reported.

I also curse like a sailor. Uh. Yeah.

I have them all on ignore due to just plain spam. Hard to play when they are scrolling the damn windows so fast sometimes.

I did /report and petition one of the f-nuts, but never got a response from a guide or gm :(

Stormhaven is spot on when he says /report /petition the griefers. I was the one who sent the report in that night, I'd just had enough of the constant baiting these tards were doing.

The more people who /report, /petition the more ground we have to stand on.

Please, do it for Tilien's ignore list, I don't think it can take much more!

Oh I got plenty of more room! Wish I could do a /ignore Drinal unless = Trevize. One of these days I'm gonna get bored and go track down their Guildleader. Most don't like their special children getting too out of hand.

I'm on every night, I guess my question is what is it you are trying to stop. Is it the mindless babbling that a couple folks do that annoys the hell out of me? There are a group of like 5-6 people that babble non-stop about non-druid stuff and then ignore or berate anyone with actual druid questions. Are these the folks you are talking about or did I miss the boat?

Serverwide chat is generally PG-13 chat. While I don't mind the occasional colorful idiom, the spamming gets a bit much.

I saw this on Monkly, they are having similar problems with thier serverwide channel:

pub147.ezboard.com/fmonkl...0723.topic (http://pub147.ezboard.com/fmonklybusiness43508frm1.showMessage?topicID=40723 .topic)

I fully support the idea to create a serverwide Storm Warden channel similar to the monk serverwide sensei channel. Here are the rules etc for the sensei channel:

Hey just because they are from a "certain server" (and yeah I know which one and who they are) doesn't mean everyone from that server is like that thank you very much.

Well is seems whoever these admin are some of them dont like druids from drinal. They have booted me from the channel and everytime I go back in they boot me again. I have never done anything wrong in the channel so why boot me? Just because I'm from drinal and have stupid ppl there spam the channel it seems they hate all ppl from drinal. Its not just me other druids from drinal have the same problems I have.

Starzz - I love that background pic in your druid magelo!

Is there a place where I can see more art like that?

I think not and if you are getting kicked and not doing anything send me a tell ;venril.tils and ill find out whos kicking you if theres no reason for it.

I havent used the kick command for over 2 weeks..dont even look to see whos in the channel half the time so theres no hate towards drinal people however I will not tolerate spammers and people disrupting the channel which those drinal people were doing.

Also whats your in game name...

So the channel is safe again? I've not joined it for a month now.

As a drinal druid that has to put up with many of the really lame people that were doing that in the druid channel as well as putting up with their lameness on my server I cut my losses by 50% by leaving the druid channel. =P.
