You've probably never heard about it, and that's not too surprising. A friend of mine recommended this movie as being very "Matrix-esque" as far as the action went, but a plot that's different enough so it doesn't feel like it's just a remake. The fight scenes in this movie were incredible - it has a "Matrix Lobby" type feel in quite a few of them, something I was sorely missing in Matrix 2.

I wanted to rent that on Friday but didn't. Thanks for the information. I'll probably check it out.

I really enjoyed it. Directed by Kurt Wimmer it’s a sci-fi post WWIII society bent on eliminating mans problems by eliminating human emotion. It has a very George Orwell “Big Brother” feel to it. The cinematography is in an anime style with cut sharp camera movement and sweeping motions.

One could say it has a Matrix feel a splash of Demolition Man naivety of society, yet the society is being brain washed while a drug is introduced as a daily regiment to keep emotions suppressed. It has an impress cast for the style of movie to it, Sean Bean has a short cameo as well as Dominic Purcell form Fox's John Doe, the cast was an interesting mix.

They coin an intresting fight method called "Gun Kata", just wait till you see that in action. Similar to a metrical art Kata; the gun(s) is like an extension of the hand(s) calculating the enemy’s field of fire, trajectory and crossfire. Naturally in the real world it would be too random for such possible technique but the movie introduces it in a very interesting way.

I've seen this movie.. I loved the action sequences. some of it got a little silly, but for the most part it was a great action movie!

Saw it this weekend...

Take the Matrix setting, throw in a little Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, and a bit of Clockwork Orange, and that's how it came off to me.

It wasn't the greatest movie, but i think it definitely deserved to stick around the box office for more than 2 weeks opposite the opening of LoTR:TT and Star Trek: Nemesis.....

I thought it was so-so. Although it had some nicely done action sequences, most of the plot was practically identical to Fahrenheit 451 except with lots and lots of bullets. It's certainly worth a viewing if you like dystopian films and action.

Yeah, don't go see this movie expecting a grandiose plot. I mean, the first ten minutes or so I was thinking, "Oh crap, what the heck did I just buy?" Even the first gun kata scene was really sort of lame. However, once the bullets really started flying, I was hooked.

I actually caught this a couple of weeks ago.

Not bad over all. Good for an action movie really.

It's the standard plot that has been around forever. Gov't controls everything. It's the gov't, the normal people, the rebels. Normal people are the bystanders that always get screwed...erm, killed in the crossfire. Someone from the big bad gov't wakes up, sees the light, and becomes the champion for the poor poor rebels.

451, Logan's Run, Robocop, Demolition Man, and a bunch of others.

Decent movie, the story line really doesn't get old...they put enough twists in to keep people coming back.
