Ok, so my computer is a 1.7 GHZ Intel Pentium 4 with 512 RAM. I have been using a GeForce2 with 32 RAM but just before the new UI went live I swapped it for a GeForce2 with 64 RAM to see if it would do better. It didn't. My lag when around trees, even with clip plane set at 0% is HORRENDOUS! I have never become dizzy when playing EQ until the UI made the live servers. So, I'm thinking on upgrading to a GeForce4 with either 64 or 128 RAM, but I'm not sure on the benchmarks, or if even there is a better card out there. Bear in mind I have 'some' money to spend, but I'm no millionaire... :P
The computer shop I normally buy stuff at gave me two prices for a GeForce4 with 64 RAM (something like $100 and $450 bearing in mind the exchange rate between the Euro and Dollar - I live in Europe) but I'm not sure on the differences between the two because I was kinda busy at the moment.
So, can anyone give me a hand here? Point me to a site where they do comparisons?
Anything would be greatly appreciated. :)

Ciao for now!

There are actually three GeForce4 models - Ti4200, Ti4400, and Ti4600. You might be interested in the lower end one, the Ti4200, which would be priced in your range.

Some quick links:

As to 64 Mb v. 128 Mb, it will make absolutely no noticeable difference. Everquest has an extremely poor graphics rendering engine that just needs a fast CPU and tons of raw horsepower from your video card.

Note that in about 1 month ATI's new 9700 Radeons will start shipping, and it's highly likely Nvidia will slash prices on the GeForce4s until Nvidia's next generation video card comes down the line, probably around the end of this year or the beginning of the next. So if you are counting pennies, you might want to hold on for a couple of weeks.

The euro amd the us Dollar were about even last I checked.

I have some interesting things on over clocking the ti4200 with 128 megs of ram.

The differince between the 64 meg and 128 ti4200 is ram speed and clock speed. The 64 meg version is faster.
