Ok I'm slow, but I finally got to this step in the earring. I know the water drops most often from megaman models. I know there are 2 at zonein, and 2 at each side of castle, as well as a few named ones in the tents. I know i can root split and zone at least the graveyard ones. I HEAR they summon, and quad 800. I hate to bother people for things that benefit only me. Can I and a young tree frog do these mobs? (I'm guessing no) Is a slower and a melee enough? Is a chanter with pet enough? How many people do I need to bother is what I'm asking I guess. All suggestions welcome.

CoT a gamite frog and pray it doesn't break.

I got all my waters off the guards in the building next to zone in, there are only 2 in there, we would pull from the tents waiting for respawn, and they only dropped off the ones that were in the building.

Good luck with your quest. It's a bitch for sure. People failing combines with rare components multiple times are making it one of the most frustrating quests out there I think.

I had at least 3 of my 6 drop off the captain/lieutenant that are in the central hut (the two unsnarable from the tents).

I "solo"d them duoing a chanter/druid a ton, mostly the two next to zone, and the first one in the left hut .. the one you can snare pull solo. I used the first sentry as my pet on chanter. The chanter died .. a lot though, whenever the pet broke it was a 50-50 chance of me getting off exodus in time.

Easiest is with a friend or two, the xp is actually fairly decent and there never was much competition from them. Grab a shaman and a tank and you can probably keep up with the heals.

Can split by snaring and running to zone, or just agroing and having someone hail them.

Can be a frustrating camp though, I spent 2 weeks off and on with no drop, then got three in one day.

Good luck!

I soloed mine, took a few deaths to get it down pat but it's doable with a charmed frog, just do it when you have exodus up and it's not really that tough, pull one of the maga men out by himself get a pet and go to town. Xp is between 11% and 12% AA per kill, and that's after the solo and the charm nerfs, so you more then make up for the death or two that you may get if charm breaks and you get stunned before you can get exodus off, or if exodus leaves you behind, which has been happening way too much lately, but that's another story. There are a couple snareable frogs, i recommend you use those just cause they are easier to handle before the fight. Other then that it's just basic charm killing with you chain casting incomplete heal.

We usually had a monk pull the megamans. Once you get them to camp, the monk FD's and the warrior /hails the target. This keeps megaman in camp while his buddies go home.

Cleric drops a HoT on the tank, druid casts DS and battle ensues.

I tried this tonight and had some questions that I hope the readers can answer.

There was a yellow con and a white con (to 65) inside the building next to the GY and I harmonized the white con and snared the yellow con. I got him outside and rooted him - he broke root a lot.

I then went after a Gamite Frog and he resisted every attempt to snare.

So, I egressed (love that 2.5 second egress) and started to experiment with gamite frogs. Some would snare and some would not (did not say immune - they just resisted. I literally tried one 15 times and he resisted every snare). Allykazame says they are all level 61 - WTF?

So, for the questions.
I take it from a previouse post that there is not always a harmonizable mob in the 2 spawn?

What Gamite Frogs can be snared and single pulled?

Does everyon pull the human and then go get their frog and charm it?

Any help will be greatly appriciated!

Snareable ones spawn on rocks.

You should be getting the "immune to run speed change" message though on the immune ones. Odd.

A solo druid can get the sacred waters from the two Valorian Guards in the chapel right by the graveyard pretty easily.

First, I always prepull the guard I want to tackle first. If one is level 65, I harmony it, and pull the other with a snare. If both are yellow, I just go ahead and pull one with a snare.

Run through the graveyard with the guard(s) in pursuit, and either hit the gravestone to zone out, or egress (I have Quick Evac so my egress time is 2.5 seconds.....this AA skill is greatly underrated, and I rely on it far more than I do Exodus). When you come back, the snared mob will be where you left it.

Now go get a gamite frog. There is a pair on the rocks in the water to the left (between the cave and the keep). One is always immune to snare/root, one is not. Harmony the first, and snare pull the second. You will want to glamor and charm it as you run up the hill. Be careful of the tree frogs in the area, as if you go past them with an uncharmed frog, they will assist. If the first charm is resisted, just root and retry.

As you bring your pet frog to the graveyard, buff it up. I generally haste it, spike it, WoW it, and boost its strength. You can add a skin if you like.

You now should be back at the guard who has been waiting patiently. Make sure you have KR up, especially if it's a yellow guard. Root the guard, cast Hand of Ro and Ro's Illum on it. Follow up with your epic DoT, then send in the frog. When the frog attacks, throw on Immo of Ro. The frog will be taking serious damage, so start casting KR right after that. You probably will need to cast it several times. When the guard gets to low HP, it will try to flee, allowing the frog some nice free hits.

If charm breaks, either egress or hit the gravestone to zone out. The guard and frog are usually still waiting there for you when you get back. Just recharm and send it right in.

If charm breaks when the guard is in flee mode, just root your pet and finish off the guard. The guard won't summon when fleeing. (Of course, they will summon otherwise...:)

Thank you, Scirocco! Exactly what I needed to know. I too have Fast Evac and it is awesome. I have been trying to snare the wrong one of the two frogs apparently 8( and I have been going all the way to the other river to get the single spawn on the top of the rock. Your system is way better than what I have been doing and failing at!

In general, the immune snare/root effect is position dependent. Every PH type mob that spawns at a particular position will be either immune or not, every time. I have seen this with skeletons AND frogs both.

Of course, if you get a special mob in place of the PH (like a trag frog instead of a gamite), then it may have exactly the opposite (i.e., the trag frog that spawns in the place of the snareable gamite frog will be snare/root immune). Similarly, the snare immune PH planarian larva right by the zone out gravestone can repop as a snareable special larva.

As a general matter, then, I don't kill off my gamite pets. Getting a snare immune trag on the repop can be a headache...
