I'm midway in my first character I have ever made on Everquest, he is now lvl 13, and struggling with money. How do you guys claim to have so much money? 20k? I was amazed when a guildie gave me 100 plat!

I claim to have 143k because I have 143k.

My head hurts, I think I just got hit by a logic train.

I don't think my first char had anywhere near 1k until he was well into his mid-30s, when he could solo hill giants. Spells, equipment, and tradeskills drained it all away. That was a long time ago, though, now you'll have many more options besides hill giants to go get some nice loot at that level.

At level 13, you don't need 1kpp. ;)

Basically, the mobs you fight at your level give enough loot to get you by with basic food water and spells. With a bot of horsetrading and a couple good drops maybe some gear.

Same applies when you 50, except at 50 you NEED 1kpp just to buy spells. The things we fight give use the same relative needs as the stuff you fight. So it evens out.

You need a shield at 13? A Shiney Brass shield at 25pp works, a Charred Guardian Shield at 200pp works.

I need a shield at 55? I am dishing out from 2k (Crystal Chiten Shield) to 15kpp (Lodi/Tae Ae/Bane Ward).

So the money I have in the bank, while it is 10-100x more than you have, fills relativly the same need as you have. As the mobs I fight, get me there.

When you get to 50+ you have 1kpp in the bank most of the time.

My first char never had 1K when I quit playing him at L33.


I agree with the above poster, the higher level you get the more pp you will make and sometimes you will get a item worth alot. The most PP I have ever had has been 50K pp and that was only because I got a rare item and sold it for alot. I prefer to play and have fun rather then worry about pp or gear.

Plat? What's that... I tend to lose all mine due to Tradeskilling as soon as I get it. I make something, sell it. Yay, my bank account goes up, for about a day maybe. Then I spend it all to buy more supplies.

I highly recommend running a bazaar mule if at all possible. A friend routinely sells foraged goodies for 1-10pp each (vegetables, Plains Pebbles, etc.) and spider silks and pelts can also be sold for some pp. Even at level 13, you'd be surprised how much pp you could make if you tried.

I remember an EC player vendor who was level 13 and had aquired 100K+ before he started leveling. And that was just the inventory he had for sale.

It took him a while to do but it is possible. It's a lot easier now with /bazaar.

Not many could do that, you have to love doing it. But it is possible.

On Tholuxe Paells, I sell Spiderling Silk @ 2pp each... and am almost always the lowest trader by far.

Grab a whole trader satchel filled and it'll sell within a day or two... that's 400pp with little to no effort.

I also do the same with Bone Chips, but for 3g5s each. Necros and Shads need them for pets, as do Greenmist quester seekers.

Made my first 1kpp at lvl 33 in Frontier Mountains, and first 10kpp in FM at 37, and...(g) I loved FM..<G>

PS, and I am a ranger, and this was before I began the FM Cycles..:)

If you are level 13 and are looking for plat, i highly suggest kill a lot of spiders. Spiders drop silk, and silk is 1 main ingrediate in Tailoring. Tailoring is a bish to get up, and most of the time, high level people do it so they can do quests like the Thurgadin Shawl quests. Pharm spider silks / spiderling silks. Sell silks for about 40pp a stack ( 2pp each - with bazaar these days, just compare prices with other players, i've seen spider silks sell from 1pp to 5pp each )

Spiderling silks sell for less since they're not used that often, so sell them at 5gp each for a total of 10pp per stack for 1pp each for a total of 20 per stack.

Other things you can sell at level 13 are pelts. HQ pelts sell quick if you give a reasonable price in the bazaar. HQ cat pelts are for fleeting quivers, HQ bear pets are for making 10 slot backpacks. again, compare prices in the bazaar. pelts are also used for leather padding ( used for smithing, and for tailoring tradeskill )

it wont make you a millionaire, but it'll put some PP in your bank. when you get higher level, they'll be plenty of places to get PP. mobs in DL drop up to 6pp each plus fine steel weapons, bronze pieces, Sebilis is a goldmine if you're in NG camp, Crystal Caverns (mid 30s zone) has geonids that drops gems (they're always camped though ) Crystal Caverns also have orcs that drop velium that you can sell in the baz since they are used for smithing and making thurgadin gate potions.
Loio has sabertooth cats, whose HQ pelts are used for cultural tailoring (selling in baz to woodelf tailors)

its a good idea to set up a mule for when you're not playing so you can sell your old gear as well as you move in levels :)

OK here is one example of how to get some cashflow:

Farm a few spiderling and spider silks. sell them in bazaar for 3 to 5pp each, and save up a good 200 or 300pp (do the math thats like three stacks of silks, easily done). Now take your plat to PoK, combine a fishing grub and and water flask in brew barrel until it is trivial (122 I think). Now, go make Heady Kiolas (components cost a few gold each) and sell THEM in bazaar for 5 to 20 plat each. There ya go, easy money as long as your wrists hold out.

Also on a side note, I think Aluaeia needs to get laid asap.

Its actually the HQ Lion skins for fleetings, they only drop from highland lions in NK :)

I've spent about 400k in the past 2 months and still have 78k in the bank.
