I have soloed the regular giants in the Forrest and Desert area and have the Head, Sash and Bone. The Seacost giants have been a problem since I cant find anyplace to get a pet and pull a giant without getting adds. Tactical suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

Tactics for the smallest possible group for the mini-bosses would also be a big help. I read someplace that a Druid, Chanter and Cleric could do it. Is this reasonable? Does the size and makeup of the group vary by area? Obviously, the Forrest area is the easiest with desert next and Seacoast the hardest.

I think if I can get a small group going in the zone killing giants and mini-bosses successfully, I would be able to get more of my more cautiouse and lower-level friends to join me.

About finding a pet in ocean: where ever your fighting just charm a frog in the forest and take it there. You can pull frogs to the ocean through the underwater tunnel. Or to desert through the tunnel that connects forest to desert. If you dont like taking your pet through the underwater tunnel you can also walk him around through desert to ocean.

There are 6 giant spawns in ocean that are outside of the buildings. 2 each at 3 bridges. I solo these ocassionally. If there is already a druid hunting in forest I will move to ocean or desert if im soloing. The ocean and desert giants seem to have less HP than the forest ones so they are faster fights = safer for the solo druid. Plus I have actually been saved from death during a charm break by an ocean giant that made me go FD then eventually walked away allowing me to stand back up :P

You can take down minis with 2 Druids and a Cleric. I do it almost nightly. I have a good cleric and druid friend and we meet up in PoS pretty much every night. Just know what your doing and try not to get adds on the mini pull. If you do then you have to kite them around and distance drop the adds. This stretches the length of charm needed which isnt good. Recharming before the fight isnt possible cause you cant slow or root the mini. For example: if you clear the whole forest fort yourself without a monk (druid puller) there are 2 giants near each mini that cannot be pulled. They must be harmony'd for the mini pull.

Its vital that each person in your group is constantly paying attention to the shoulder area of the mini. When you see them proc the person that is about to get hit by it needs to run backwards until it dissappears. You cant afford a death with only 3 people. All 3 of you would be CH'ing obviously. I usually put DS on the pets and Hand of Ro on the mini as well. Also as a general rule for all 2 pet giant fights, If charm breaks during the fight run away from the giant as you snare and glamour, then run back to the giant to cast charm. So that as your charm lands you pet will be standing next to the giant to re-engage. Dont wander halfway across the forest to recharm and have your snared frog crawl back to the fight.

I have killed minis this way many many times. Ive also killed a mini in desert with just myself and 2 clerics! WLK dropped on that fight :) The more time you spend in PoS the easier it will get. I know all the giant loc's inside the forest fort and can pull singles out of there better than most monks.

On sunday 6 ppl (3 druids 3 clerics) tried to take down the Forest Lord hehe. Sorta knew it would be a wipe but what the heck all the other giants were dead. Never got a good feel for how that fight would have worked out cause tree adds warped to our group and attacked the second cleric in the CH chain. Im thinking that you can probably do it with 2 groups. Our core group + a couple more pets/clerics and 2 or 3 rangers to kite snare root the tree adds and preferably AM3 to come back and help on the lord. Ive seen the lord go down to 9% health at the hands of six frogs during a large forest raid. Most of the people present were just watching the druids, encs, and clerics tear it up tho.

Awesome advice, Wiggume. Thank you for taking the time to give such a great explaination!

Although I have had the spell for a bit, the other night I charmed a frog for the first time. It was the MT for a mini boss :)
The frog did amazingly well. I think it would have been better if I would have had a typhoon lorok instead of a hurricane. I believe the hurricanes are rogues and the typhoon are warriors. The only problem was that charm kept breaking at the wrong times. I was able to re-charm (as the giant started killing other people when charm broke). Unfortunatley, when the giant was at 10% charm broke again and by the time I got the frog recharmed the giant was on me. I died, charm broke, end of fun. I think I had to recharm at least 3 times during the fight. I would love to have a set duration or at least a set time frame (greater than 30 seconds - more like 5 minutes at the least). I'm beginning to wonder if maybe root/rot might be a bit easier than charming (to kill frogs, not giants). Stuff dies pretty quick using epic, bracer, swarming death, winged death and fury of ro. Less risky too.

How fast do you get EXP in PoS? I get 1 point ever 3 hours almost exactly root dotting in HoH... more in PoV, but no chance for spectrals in PoV :P

I don't imagine it will be too much different since I'm 63 now, but...
I was getting almost 2 blue of aa per frog kill with 80 percent going to aa and 20 percent going regular. I'm not HoH flagged, so that isn't an option for me. I have heard of places to root/dot in PoV but have never tried to even find them because the zone is always so crowded.

PoV is probably worth trying. I only do HoH because of Parchments. PoV golems give me 7%aaxp/kill... best EXP I've had yet. And I usually don't have troubles finding mobs to kill. Dunno if my server is much different than yours tho.

Phylox the answer to your question is: it depends

if the zone is empty (yeah right), and you have good luck with charm breaks, you can easily manage 1.5aa/hour in PoS. But this is not maintanable, as you will run out of (easy to get to) spawns.

A more typical number is prolly .75 to 1.0 per hour.

Of course all this will be moot when they nerf charm soon. Oh well.

At level 61 the loroks (Forest Frogs) in PoS are worth 11% aaxp.

The neophtans (ZI frogs) are 7%. Which is a little odd being as these are even cons and the forest frogs are dark blues.

Don't charm the forest frogs while in the forest. Pathing can suck and they will wander off. Best bet is to snare a frog then kite him to the tunnel. Once he's close swim through to ocean. If he gets stuck, he will warp to you in ocean. You'll take some damage when he warps on top of you but you'll have a snared pet for ocean giants.

You can do mini's with 2 or 3 druids (enchanters). The nice thing about having multiple pets is it increases your margin for when charm breaks. When charm breaks, you'll still have one pet keeping the mini occupied. Gives time to recharm.
