Hi all :)

I have a few problems which sometimes make quad-kiting and charming a bit tiring. I have fallen in love with root/rotting, hehe :) I solo all the time now and due to the kindness of my friends, I have decent gear and permament KEI and a very busy chat, lol.

I searched but I couldn't find very many mobs listed that can be root/rooted in the 30s and 40s. I worked my way through EK, Stonebrunt, LIO, Everfrost mammoths, and right now I'm working in Overthere. I also had some luck with basilisks in Jaggedpine and cougars in Iceclad. I like to jump around a lot so I was hoping some folks might list some mobs they have found good for root/rotting for all levels. I'm trying to avoid crowded places like Dawnshroud right now.

Thanks for all the good tips from this board!

EW ulthorks are awesome exp at those levels. Easy to quad as well. I also stuck to the shore area of LOIO for awhile dot/squating and kiting until abt 35. )pre-luclin so no hints on luclin zones for your lvl.

Gobs in SolA or anything in Splitpaw from 28 to 35ish..

Geo's in Crystal Caverns at 35 or so to about 42.. very nice cash loots too, and dungeon xp bonus. Don't break root too often, but they hit fairly hard for thier level.

SolB from 35 - 60.. kobolds, bats, crawlies, and spiders.. root holds very well on all of these, and the xp bonus almost makes up for the trains - nearly everything sees invis here, and yes, I honestly did ding 60 in SolB. :)

I spent all of my 40's and lower 50's in SolB or Lower Guk, not sure where else to suggest in that range.

54 - 60, The snakes at the back of Ssra in the grey are nice xp til about 58.
Chardok is on of my favorites, and quite dangerous, but you can charm/root/rot. Big fun.
Howling Stones entrance at 55-58, then 58 -60 you can easily solo the pit and crawl around down in the tunnels.
Sebilis entrance/exit is great for 57-60, and very nice cash loot too. ;)

55-59ish, Permafrost .. bears and wolves and spiders and cones under vox's lair. Hard to get to sometimes, but charm lasts forever it seems on the bears.. and xp moves fast.

61+ - Forest Frogs in PoStorms, indifferent stuff at zone in to PoValour, Razorbacks in PoValour, wolves in PoNightmare, Puslings in PoDisease.... that's all I've really found so far.. :)
I'm a sucky kiting druid.. never done much of it really, I'm more of a dungeon root/rot kind of gal.. prefer the danger of a dungeon to the relatively safer outdoor zone, so I can't help much in that respect.

There's about a ton of zones with mobs in that level range. A good source of information about that is on eq atlas where they have a guide to zones by level and then you can look up the bestiary and see what mobs might work for you. Since you don't really say what level you are, its hard to give advice.

I love rotting also... but even more now. Look at getting a horse asap if possible (friend wise I guess). 8k and you are getting full med while casting... you can stay standing (much better for breaks and adds). Then you can find areas with non-adding non-agro mobs that you stand in the middle and cast away... ITS GREAT!

Also, don't rot things that are easy (and well known) for quadding... it's still faster. the great thing about rotting is that you can do it almost anywhere. Even indoors (ignore horse paragraph...). So the real power of rotting is you don't have the compitition and can do other items better.

good luck.

Those are some great ideas, thanks! I just made level 33--a low-level druid with KEI is the most fun ever, lol. I never thought about trying dungeons-and the horse idea is great, I'll look into that tonight.

Thanks for the tips!

In my experience, the level before new spells is always difficult. I think OT is a good place for 33. For variety you can zone over into FM. Many of the dungeons mentioned are great for that level. Enjoy yourself.
