For those of you who don't konw about this little ability of wizards... check this out.

www.ascendingdawn.com/ima...hot622.jpg (http://www.ascendingdawn.com/images/screenshots/pics/screenshot622.jpg)

A lure based DD that does 6k dmg (crits for 12k) on average every 2 hours or so. Looks like its back to bagging all your droppables when porting *sigh*.

Casting time is 7 seconds so if you see this being cast, you *might* get cheetah off and out of range in time. Its lure based so resists are useless as well.

A wizard from FoH scored a crit of 17300 with manaburn. That takes an extremely large manabase to acheive though. There is a picture somewhere of it, but I dont want to look for it.

I guess the point is that its a deathtouch every 2 hours for wizards. Even uncritical, it will kill any player in the game instantly no matter what hit points or what resists (to my knowledge no players have over 6000 hp, though I'm sure there might be a few exceptions in a few superguilds). For use against a MoB isn't my concern. VI should take this right out of PvP. Once the little pk ******s get to this level they will farm the portals and have players dead before they finish loading. Coupled with an instant succor and a manastone type ability to get mana enough to gate back to the bazaar (non-pvp zone) and you have a perfect PKing machine.

I seriously hope that someone that achieves this skill has something better to do than sit around a portal and PK...

You mean like hanging out in raid zones and farming cof and fungi tunics?

hehe. this is also a setback in PVP. wizzys who use this will stay away from clerics, pallys and necros, cause:D ivine aura, harmshield, and oom wizard. sounds like payback to me....gehehehehehe

Na, you see a cleric DA you'd just interrupt till DA wore.

And don't count on running away, because the range on Manaburn is insane.

true, but it IS lure based, so the bolt has to "hit" you before it does damage. only a couple of things can outrun that, a druids SOC and the bards selo song.

Verant definitely needs to take this out of PvP. Dropping someone in one hit is NOT balanced.

Question going as far as SoC and Selo I didnt thing it was possible to outrun a mb. Also as far as DA goes does that really prevent mb for hitting, because if so a shinny brass idol isnt all that hard to obtain /

They are removing mb from pvp, and rightfully so. This information comes from the most recent FF.

They are not removing it from PvP, according to Absor.

They haven't said what they are going to do with MB yet in pvp. All they said is that it is unbalancing pvp, and they are looking into it.

Being a tank with 7000 hp you can survive a non critical manaburn ;)

Sometimes you can, IF you happen to have raid buffs up and have over 7000 hps with those buffs. But not many are able to run around with raid buffs on themselves constantly.

There is a posted screen shot of a Raid buffed tank living threw a PVP Manaburn. This was done on Rallos Zek recently. Will try and find it again and post it.

Well, assuming MB is under the same rules as any other kind of nuke, it only did 66% of what it could when it landed on Furor... So...

X * 66 17002 * 100
17002 = -------- or.... X = ------------- = 25761 points of damage.
100 66

That was a wizard who got burned, see the greater familiar buff, and whoever did that MB could not have had full mana.
