I'm trying to get some of the level 51-54 spells via the firiona vie druid quest. I'm 51 at the moment and usually solo, though i have the occasional assistance of a level 65 bard. What would be the best way to get the spells to turn in for the quest?

Also, which of the <55 spells would be considered requisite?

You can get copies of Circle of Summer/Winter in Burning Woods, but they are pretty rare. I got them from Forest Giant Ancients and Mouldering Gorillas if I remember. Those can be used for the turnin quest.

At 51 it may be difficult to take out an Ancient with root/rot, but if you have lots of Wis/Mana you can do it (plus it'd be good exp). Skyfire drops these spells too, but it's a bit tough there at 51 solo. With the bard, you could fear/charm kite giants in BW for great experience and Wurms in Skyfire. Mature wurms (Skyfire) have the best shot at dropping spells in my experience - the higher level the NPC, the greater chance of dropping a scroll.

As for prioities, I'd say get Egress, Call of Karana and Glamour of Tunare for sure. Upheaval is a decent spell, but I rarely use it since I don't AE much.

If you want the best shot at these spells, check the Bazaar. Egress used to be quite common, as did CoK. You could probably pick them up pretty cheap.

"What would be the best way to get the spells to turn in for the quest?"

Take some plat to the bazaar, and buy the spells you want. Barring that, buy the turn-in spells, and go turn them in. I'm totally serious.

You could hunt for a LONG time before you see the spells you want. Bazaar always has spells for sale, so might as well take advantage of it.

I did this last week for my chanter. Needed the 51 quested spell. Bought all 4 turn-in spells, actually 2 copies each, and spent a grand total of about 300pp for all 8 spells. Turned in 4 of them, got 2 level 51s, a 52 and a 53. Kept the 52, 53, and 54 turn-in ones, since I needed those also =)

So 300pp got me 6 spells my chanter needed!

Guess i'll be slaughtering more green giants in rathe mtn for bazaar cash then. What about the turnin spells themselves? They all seem to be pretty good (and i know i want form of the howler so the necros in rathemtn will stop calling me 'whitey' while in wolf form). Are the other 3 used frequently?

the turn in spells drop quite frequently in howling stones, you can get several copies there in an evening's hunt with a nice group.

I've had lousy luck with the turn-in so far on MT. Keep getting Upheaval and Glamour of Tunare, but never Call of Karana or Egress.

Sooo, if anyone out there is on MT and would be interested in a trade, please let me know.

I did the same as above, kept getting the same spells on turn-ins. BUT, I noticed something, after spending quite a bit of plat on the spells in bazaar. Certain turn-ins, always (in my case) gave the SAME spell in return. So, to get my final one (Glamour) I bought the one spell I hadnt bought before for the turn-in, and whala, I got Glamour.

SO, my point is, buy one of each of the 4 you are supposed to turn in, and I THINK you will get one of each of the rewards for druid spells (4 of them).

My caveat is that I didnt pay much attention at first, thinking it didnt make a difference, so I didnt keep a record, but I KNOW I never got Glamour, until I turned in the one spell that I hadnt bought before (believe it was Circle of Summer--but once again, didnt keep record and its been awhile, sorry).

Pretty sure I got Glamour of Tunare twice on Spirit of Scale turn in, but I'll give your advice a try (can't hurt) :) . Pretty sure I haven't used Circle of Winter or Summer on turn in might as well give it a shot. Thanks

When I was doing these quests, I got soo many copies of glamour of Tunare, all from different turn in spells. I think you have a chance to get any spell on turn-in, but who knows, maybe each turn-in spell gives you a higher percent chance at one in particular.

These spells and many of the drop only ones are so dang cheap now in the bazaar that its just not worth doing the turn in quest really. Or I guess you could buy some in the bazaar and still do the turn in quest on other ones you bought for jollies.

I wish this was possible when I was first in the low 50's. I remember getting so frustrated getting duplicates and such and how people charged insane amounts for any of the ones you wanted.

You don't have a higher percent chance at one in particular, its apparantly totally random as far as I could tell, though some might have been set to be more "common" than others.

Actually been trying to buy both Call of Karana and Egress for several weeks. Finally found Call of Karana in bazaar today. Got one more of the turn-in spells to try for Egress one more time.

When I did my turn in with my chanter, I did turn in 1 of each of the 4 different spells, but I did not get all 4 different reward spells. Got 2 of one, and none of another one, so that shoots down that theory.

I took everyone's advice and started to periodically check the bazaar for these spells. The cheapest i've found either the spells themselves or the turnin spells over the past few days has been 450pp. Is that considered a cheap price for these spells?

Not to me.

Ouch... on emarr thats high... Pretty sure I bought all the turnin spells for between 20-50pp each. Got lucky and and got all the quested spells by buying the turnin spells for a total of around 350pp or so.

On MT I've seen both the turn-in spells and the reward spells vary greatly in price.

I have not paid more than 75p for a turn-in, but have seen them priced as high as 400p.

Got lucky and bought Call of Karana for 75p, but have been seeing Glamour of Tunare priced at 1500p (lol) and Egress for 800p (also lol).

Maybe I should offer the bonehead selling Egress for 800p a trade of Glamour which he can then overprice at 1500p?

Not sure I even want Egress, don't often flee when solo'ing and have a Crucible of Escape for clicky Lessor Succor if I need it. I can die casting my clicky instead of dieing casting Egress.

Well, I don't often flee while soloing, but the cast time on egress is so low that if you don't have the AA skill, this is really the next best thing (assume you don't want to gate).

Egress is a very useful spell.

**sob**

Ok thanks for the info...I'll keep looking for it.

Dang, I nearly had myself deluded into believing I didn't need it too.
