Thanks. That's basically just what I was curious about. Zone kinda seems to be ho hum except for all the gnolls playing in their big hot tub.

I wouldn't consider a +10 wisdom item, that goes in offhand too ho hum myself. It has harsh negative charisma, but still :)

Yes, it's ho hum. Compare it to the Shield of Bane Warding, a SoL quest that can be done by less than a full group. AC 25, 20 wisdom, 12 MR, 8 cha.

personally, i think that this is a good ranged spot. have epic in primary and shield of ward baning in offhand.

not to bad in my opinion. oh and if you purchase an item, you always remove it.

Total twink zone imo. Nothing really of substantial value for any 55+ gamers in their. Ive played around in their since day it went live on legends and really besides the gnoll war nothing to fun to really spend to much time their. Nice quiet solo get away spot on occasion when your really bored after the thrill wears off in a week like it did on legends and zone is empty, but besides that dont waste yer time....

If you were to wear the griffons eye in your 2nd, I can see the comparison, but most people I know would use it in their ranged slot.

10 hp, no mana, no resists, and a neg stat...this belongs in the circular file, not the range slot or any other slot.

Thats fine :) I personally still think +10 wisdom is a nice range item, especially since I can always take it off for selling.

My opinion :) I don't expect everyone to agree.

I got that and stuck it in my def clerics range slot, quit nice really. She has 198 wis now. My druid already had the skyshrine quest thingie.

For a range slot item that thing is pretty darn good. I'd not use it in offhand preferring a crystal chiten shield or something. 10 wis and 20 hp in a range slot... nice.

The same mob, mostly timber griffon I'd guess, supposedly drops a 6 ac lore earring. A cougar claw upgrade, if you will, and nice companion to ivandyr's hoop for a naughty tank. Neither of these are bad for a soloable with very little danger (in wolf form) mob. Everyone can't get better things for range slot, they don't drop out of the sky.

Ahha I finally went to that debheads site to figure out what it was. Its the, now obscure, actress from the 80's valley girl film I remember.
I don't remember taking note of her much, but it was Nick Cage's debut and I remember he seemed so natural and funny with lines like the retort to "is this movie in 3d?" being

"No but your face is."

There were a lot of people like that in films in the 80's that were kind of "teen" films that just disappeared. Now you find them on worship sites. The internet is crazy! ;)
I forgot she was also in real genius, I remember seeing that at something you kids today would not know about.. a "drive in."

www.driveintheater.com/drivlist.htm (http://www.driveintheater.com/drivlist.htm)

Kind of interesting. I looked at my state and all the larger city drive ins closed quite a while back now. I'm pretty sure the last one I went to was the Q-twin here in nebraska. Some small towns actually have them still. Its amazing I found this drive in site in 3.2 seconds of going to hotbot and making a query.

The Eye of the Griffon is better than the medicine totem I had in my range slot till I replaced it with a bene talisman.

/shrug

I could see its use.

But then you'd have to mess with it when you wanted to buy or sell, which means a hassle. I like keeping my charisma as it is or a little higher to get the best vendor prices. =\

Yes, it's so difficult to swap it out to sell :-)

It appears griffons who have this as their loot will 'glow' much like fire beetles with eyes and shardwurms with bile. Granted you can only tell at 'night', but I thought everyone might to know this.

Here's a screentshot.

For range slot get a golden idol until you can do benevolence quest. Not sure on karana but tunare idol with 5wis 40mana and saves should give more of a mana pool to most druids.

On E'ci, at least:

Eye of the Griffon -- free.
Golden Idol of Tunare -- 2k.

Not everyone's made of money. This was a godsend to my cleric partner. The ability to purchase better items for thousands of plat has no relevence to the quality of the drop. :)

Edit: Maybe I should format my sig first before using it :) Grr

No one is doubting that it is a nice, low-mid range ranged slot item. But it's still "ho-hum," as I think it was originally put. A medicine totem is ho-hum. Anything less than a Golden Idol would be ho-hum at this point.

Things that would have been incredible items two years ago are mundane today. Mudflation at its best.
