Was wondering if there any +% forage items out there to be obtained either via quest or loot as they would increase your chances as foraging the zone specific items such as Seahorse Roe in Erud's Crossing or Emerald Oranges, both needed in brewing.

I only know of one, but you have have luclin check out

everquest.allakhazam.com/...quest=1464 (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1464)

The reward is Bard Druid Ranger only and adds +10% to foraging skill.

Has anyone ever checked to see if 200 + in foraging actually improves it at all?

I think its all or none, really.

There was some point where you had to be to forage rares, but since they removed that (I guess) It seems to me that no matter what skill you are its just luck.

I've been 55 and now 56 for so long my forage has been maxxed for eons. I was in gfay for a couple hours the other night screwing around and only foraged ONE morning dew and ONE cinnamon stick THE ENTIRE TIME. I know I've foraged a ton of morning dew in much shorter periods before and from what people have been saying recently on much lower characters, so are they.

As nearly as I can tell in any zone, at max forage skill for 56, you are no more likely to forage a rare than anyone else. So I don't think something which adds a higher percentage to your skill will make a diff. I really don't even see what the point of the skill going up is. I've seen people on lower skill foragers report the same success.

The only thing that forage skill seems to matter for any more is fail/success rate. I've had ZERO failures on forage since level 34 (as far back as my log files go).

I started a druid up on another server a few weeks ago when mine went down for some reason, sit there memorizing newbie spells and making basic hotkeys... hit forage for the VERY FIRST TIME... Ripened Heartfruit... yay?

BTW Lesser Faydark has better results if you're looking for morning dew, but you won't get any cinnamon sticks there. I just wish I knew what to do with the 3 stacks of dew on my tradeskill stuff mule.

It used to be that one needed to have a skill of over 100 to forage zone rares.

I would suspect that the higher level skill you have increases your odds of foraging out of the rares table, though I have nothing besides my opinion to back me up on this one.

Just from general observation I would have to agree.. Some items are "harder" to forage than others.

I suspect a mod to forage would increase your chances of being able to forage some of the rarer items.

I went and completed the foraging machete twice, one ofr each account. While using them, I have not really seen any difference, however I still use them all of the time just in case. I figure it can't hurt.<G>

At forage 200, you never fail to forage SOMETHING.

y 2nd (foraging mule) druid has a forage skill of 196 atm. She still fails to forage something once in a while.

Not sure if an adjusted forage of 200+ (from the machete) would also have this affect.
