Where does this drop? I hear it may be in the 'tower' in skyshrine off cubes (hungry cubes?). Anyone able to confirm where it drops, the levels of the mobs, difficulty, and if it can be soloed? Thanks

Named sentries and wyverns in the appropriate level range (low 40s to high 40s) will have this as a random loot item. I doubt a druid without good faction could solo them effectively, as the sentries have high HP, are closely packed together and magic resistant, and the wyverns beyond them require passing through a number of obstacles, and are themselves extremely resistant to magic, fire, and cold. Shambling cubes of that level may also have it, but they can be extraordinarily hard, splitting twice and requiring you to kill 11 NPCs, some of which are immune to magic -- stay away from them.

Your best bet it to partner with a melee and keep the sentry rooms after the pool room clear.

I've only seen Square helms (and other items on that loot table) drop from named wyverns and Oct Cubes...so basicly anything past that first Wurm you see as you go up.
But I can't deny they drop off sentries...just saying I've only seen loot off oct/wyverns.

I have personally seen the square helm several times from those sentries I mentioned. Granted, though, that was quite some time ago.

We had 2 of these drop in one 3 hour night hunting on the bridge (named wyverns). This was about 3 weeks ago now. The wyverns have a random loot table.

Got one last night from one of the Wyverns in the room before the bridge area. Apart from the AC its stats suck big time. My Othmir cap is equal in wis and better in other stats, so I gave the square helm back to my necro duoing partner as it looked funny on him as he is a gnome :P
And anyway, I look far too sexy with my long flowing hair to cover it up with a helmet with leaves sticking out the top :P

Ciao for now!

You might regret that move . . .

I just logged in and my Square helm now has the focus effect of Damage Increase 3.

I don't care what effect they put on that thing. I'm not putting that ugly piece of crap on my druid ever hehe.

But is so ugly, and my circlet of summer doesn't mess my hair up. I think I will stick with my circlet and bone-clasped girdle (which also has improved damage III). :D

I'll just ask for it back:

Araxx: Hey, necro-friend, gimme back my helmet!
Necro-friend: No way man, it has some focus effect!
Araxx: You're a necro, now gimme my helmet before I nuke you to necro-land.
Necro: Go hug a tree.
Araxx: I want my mommy!!!

Ciao for now!

hehe, you guys really thing its ugly? I wear it because I like the look of it even though it has subpar stats. Maybe I just have lots of bad hair days though . . .
