Tried RTVZ with the guild + friends the other night, we had alot of people there so we split into 2 raids one to run the script and kill RZ and one to drop the adds. Run the event things are going ok Raid 1 is running the script, Raid 2 is talking about sheep (don't ask). Raid 1 drops fake RZ and comes back to engage Real RZ in pit. Raid 2 is hiding in the South safe spot out of agro range of everything. Raid 1 engages and gets ported all over creation. A member of Raid 2 engages and gets ported off to never never land.

Turns out someone not in either raid never got out of the pit (and we were telling them what we were doing repediately over the prior half hour in shout and ooc) agro'd RZ hosing the entire script for the rest of us (needed at least 24 flags that night).

I feel this issue needs to be resolved as any griefer can come in and effectively block any guild from accessing the elemental planes again.

On top of that I hear that the adds for the event are still screwy, however, I do not have first hand knowledge of that as I never seem to live, or stay in zone long enough to find out.

I agree. It's pretty ridiculous that anyone can come in and hose the entire event. Short of a zone re-design though, I don't see what they could do. Maybe make it so the raid is ported to a diff area (like pov trials) to finish the script rather than having to fight in the pit.

Ok I know nohing about the script, so if what I say makes no sense then forgive me.

They could:

1) Lock the zone so no one can enter it when the script is taking place. And when someone starts the script everyone not in the /raid starting the script gets ported to Tranquility.

2) Make it so only the raid that kills the Fake one can engage the real one.

Does any of that make sense? Sounds reasonable? etc?

I think that a few guilds use AE TL to port to Tranquility after fake rallos is down, so it would cause problems.

But yeah something needs to be done.

Yikes that sucks and I feel your pain.

Well, we have only beat RZ since he was bugged. We never tried him prior to the accidental change. When we beat him, we were the first on our server to do it since RZ started "accidently" started summoning 20-30 EXTRA adds. A GM basically came down and talked to us because he was surprised as hell that we beat him with the add situation.

It really needs to be fixed as a few guilds that could actually beat him before are having hard time doing so now. We beat him in his current form, so I'm not worried about us so much as the people coming behind us. It just doesn't seem right to make it harder for upcoming guilds then it was for the first few to do the script repeatedly before the change.

From what the GM said, this was NOT an intentional change, so we'll see what happens.

On a side note, this fugger better drop us a BoW soon :(

I feel that the best solution to this would be to have RZ only targetable or agro on someone who is in the raid that spawns him.

I have been at this event 10 times now. 7 of those times we have had the event blown for us by someone else.

Probably easier just to have things programmed to TL anyone out of the pits as soon as RZ pops there. I don't think I know any guild that drops down into the pit until he's there anyway.

Having RTVZ spawn in the pit is just a bad idea, it sounds nice but it becomes to easy to disrupt. Have him spawn in some room deeper in Tactics and do the "ring" there. This way some random player can not mess up the event and the event does not mess up some random players XP session.

Heh, i'm in the same boat with LZ, RZ is just a PITA encounter due to the lack of minimal foresight in the EQ Dev team.

We did him again last night, but the amount of adds was rediculous, ending up with what appeared to be at LEAST 25, probably close to 40, spawning in various locations in the pit.

Add in kiters running around some of the previous adds and it's just a big Clusterf*ck of moving mobs and PC's.

We got him down to about 45% before the amount of adds, which seemed predominantly to be the Wraiths, overwhelmed the raid.

Well yes the encounter has been bugged for 3 weeks now and it doesn't seem to have any news on it.

Lots of things have been bugged since that patch. Somethings are weird, like only a dozen or so servers have seen them... Gotta love how they can break things so well.

Actually Storm both successes were since the event was bugged :evil: .

I 2 box full time at raids my druid and cleric and I would have to agree that dealing with all the adds at the end and trying to rez & heal enough people to keep the kite going while we got people back into the pit to hail is about the worst thing I have seen in all my time in EQ.

The last patch was a disaster for introducing new bugs into the game. It will be interesting to see if this event is addressed in the next patch or if it's "working as intended".

Same on KB, no problem whatsoever.

The only practical solution would be to have someone in the pit aggroing RZ on pop and making sure noone else will before him.

KB, june 16, hideous amounts of adds compared to normal, and projection decided not to spawn (that was fun /sarcasm).
