Has anyone else been having trouble with Magelo? Ever since yesterday the website won't load up. I get either a blank page or part of it.

Working fine here, main page and profile pages load up all the way.

Windows Update pushed a patch to IE. It may have reset your "Use <a href="HTTP/1.1"">1"</a> and "Use 1 (HTTP/1.1) through proxys" settings. Go into your internet settings and make sure both 1 (HTTP/1.1) options are checked.

It still doesn't work. It either loads up blank or partially. I got it to load up all the way once but when I went to my character it didn't show it. God how I hate the freaking Internet!

The site seems to be functioning fine. I suggest investigating your browser/firewall settings. Here is our IE Settings post:<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr><strong>Internet Explorer 6</strong>

There are few things you need to check with IE 6... in no particular order:

- Make sure you keep up with the latest IE 6 with critical updates from Microsoft (<strong>Tools -> Windows Update -> Scan for updates</strong>). Make it a habit to check this at least once a week for maximum compatibility.

- Make sure Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> <strong>Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections</strong> is checked ON (ie. checkmarked). <strong>Use HTTP</strong> should also be ON.

- You should have your <em>Security</em> and <em>Privacy</em> levels set to <strong>medium</strong>. If it's higher or custom, make sure you know exactly what are the consequences (trying to set back to medium is a good idea to be sure it doesn't come from here). Medium high should be acceptable. Magelo does use a cookie to automatically log you in whenever you visit.

- If you are using something like Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm (its privacy settings), make sure you configure it properly to work with Magelo (see Zone Alarm (http://www.magelo.com/forum_flat.html?mess_num=29715) or Norton (http://www.magelo.com/forum_flat.html?mess_num=42231) HOWTOs in the library).

- Clear your browser cache when you suspect IE is messing up (eg. displaying an old page or an empty dropdown list). Here's how: <strong>Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files</strong>.

- To keep IE's cache manager from outsmarting itself, set Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings -> <strong>Every visit to the page</strong>. This will go a long way towards allowing you to see the web content you've selected all the time, and not something else.[/quote]

I did all that and it STILL doesn't work. I don't understand how the hell something can work one day and not work the next, or how Magelo can be the only site affected by whatever the hell's going on.

It's the homepage that won't load up all the way, if at all. I can't even get to the profile page unless I click the link on my guild's website.

If all else fails, just go to microsoft.com and download IE 6.0 SP1

Even if you already have it. This will ensure that you have the lastest this and that, and usually will fix any wierd stuff going on with IE.

When you get to microsoft.com click on the downloads on the lefthand side of the screen. IE 6 SP1 is usually number 2 or 3 on the list that it pulls as being the most popular downloads.

If configuring your firewalls and security doesn't work, just turn them off while you're on the site.

See if the site has tech support too. You probably aren't the first person that's had this problem.
