I have been checking the members link since the switch to the new boards, and today I finally saw him.

AbsorEQ

It's good to have you here! I think I speak for all of us (or at least most of us) when I say we really appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

I know we sometimes read too much into your comments, and at other times we take it too literally. But in the end, through all the 'constructive critisism', flames, cry's of nerfs, due praises and jubilation, at the heart we all simply want to get better at having fun in EQ.

Some are better at communicating then others of us, but I hope you feel at home when you visit.

Sincerely,
Wyte WorldKnot <Rallos Zek>

P.S.
Q: Do you still have "heated discussions" about gameplay at headquarters, as I remember reading in the past? I'd hate to think that everyone has become completely like-minded over 4 years.

P.P.S.
If this is some quack that's assuming AbsorEQ's identity, may your mellow be harshed to such an end, that it would make even Mennix cringe at the thought!

I want his job, look at the benefits....

1) Sits on ass (a major plus)
2) Peruses the internet (a major plus)
3) Occasionally posts a comment (awsome bonus)
4) Gets paid for this (what else could you want)

Now for the cons...

1) Having to deal with the replies (not so bad)
2) ..... nothing else....

But good to see he visited the new boards! Moar quotes from him though in our sigs.... "Classes are not that out of balance."

I prefer the Kelly Flock one though

that's assuming AbsorEQ's identity

He's the real deal - Registered with Absor's Email -

Bartleby,

You ever hear the story.. The grass is always greener on the otherside of the fence?..

Just don't let me hear that you submitted a resume to SoE Bart :) -- as for Absor's quotes.. well I don't think Absor will be running for President anytime soon... "Read my Lips.. "

- Don't let this become a rant or it will go where rants go :p

Oh nos!

You got me all mistaken, I <3 what Absor does for EQ, takes a strong person to deal with a 500+ post thread on some spell that they implement into a game.

I was just saying that for me, I would love to have the job that Absor does,(I personally work retail and do school full time so you can tell where my jealously lies)

Just a satirical post by me, don't read too much into it, also my brain is fried from reading about all sorts of fun stuff about jazz history!

My fault if this becomes a rantish thread, I didn't intend to make it aim that direction.

/gives mad props to Mr. Vancouvering

-regards

That when you let something slip because your trying to be nice and you get a bonk on the head at work? :)

I could imagine how it would hurt :)

btw if your reading atleast your listening and seeing how some people think...means just as much as "psot"ing :P

Wow Absor, I thought you had thicker skin than that...

Another nail in the EQ CS coffin!

Scirocco

Thickness of skin won't help. Believe me, psotting repeatedly is a painful experience...(but it's a good kind of pain)

Just check out my Psot Count!

I am sitting here wondering if everyone is clueless or if it is me.

The orginal poster (Madronedorf) misspelled post as “psot” in this quote “absor visits most class boards but he rarely psots =(“

Absor comes along and good naturedly posts a tongue in cheek comment about “PSOTING” being painful. A lot of people jumps down his throat for either being thin skinned or for spelling errors. My god no wonder the man is careful what he says!

Well my response is simple - It must be painful to PSOT ‘cause it sounds painful!

Good to see ya here Absor.

Can I maybe see a picture of it?

aye - Thick or thin'd skin... it still hurts to psot! - If you haven't tried it.. well.. thats your lost!

Deller,

Come on. People are just having fun. :P

Absor has to have thick skin to be in his position. :)

Will you settle for being semi-clueless?

You got Absor's response right on the money...a tongue-in-cheek comment about "psotting" playing off on the original spelling error. The majority of the responses pick up on that....I don't see any posts asserting that Absor doesn't know how to spell, and there was only one post that seemed to think Absor was serious (the first one commenting about being thin-skinned). That was the first "clueless" post I've seen in this thread, and my post was aimed at trying to clue that poster in to the nature of Absor's post. As were Sobe's and the other posts following.

Of course, trying to explain this takes all the fun out of it....:P

In any event, nothing to see here. Move on. Head back to your regularly scheduled psotting....

that's because you don't psot enough yourself sobe, 101 psots is a painful number for the admin... change that setting in your admincp to show 20 some thousand psots... i'd follow a chap who can take that much pain anywhere... but 101? pslease.

People who value post counts are weird.

I'm pretty sure there are several state and federal regulations you would be breaking by just taking such a picture. Certainly jail time for posting one.

OK I accept semi clueless. Guilty as charged, I realized some people had gotten the joke but mistook some of the return banter as meaning somethign it did not - so I guess I need to remeber that when (or if) I am pointing out others errors I may be making bigger ones!

/wipes the egg off his face

/appologies to all

While noone can accuse me of being a huge Absor fan (and I know I'm not making his Xmas list anytime soon), I'll give the man this much: His job isn't the cushy read boards and occasionally post job most think it is.

My understanding its more 1 part Dev, 1 part community relations, 1 manager, 1 part scapegoat.

But I'll be damned if I'll ever forgive him for not prancing through East Freeport nekkid singing "I'm a little teapot".

Just be glad he cares enough to psot here. It is always reassuring to see that sig in a thread so we don't feel abandoned. I do think the psot count is a bit low for Absor though.

Thanks for dropping back by Absor, those of us that have been around since release date appreciate it.
