Anyone see the Anne Rice Bio on Biography? It was interesting. I went to a fan party she hosted in New Orleans back in late 90's for Halloween, everyone dressed up as a vampire of course.
I have to agree with her critics about some of her books. I really didn't like Violin, or any of the later Lestat books, only mildly liked her later books. The Mayflower series, again, liked the first one, but as they progressed I liked them less and less. She gets so caught up in her character's emotions and internal turmoil sometimes that their is no real story unfolding, just lots of emotions.

HAHAAHA I went to a couple of those parties in the late nineties, during my infamous quarter times. I honestly stopped reading the vampire chronicles at Pandora. My personal favorite was Tale of a Body Thief though primarily because of how she described going from vampire to human, which hasn't been described that much in literature. Only other series I read was The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy, which if you're a fan of the disney movie this is a must read as it's a sequal to that. ;)

Bah...Sleeping Beauty series was horrid. Interesting concepts, but horridly written.
I have to agree with Pan's assessment. By far the best book by her was The Vampire Lestat, followed closesly by the first book of the Mayfair series (I forget the name). As each series goes further on...they start to suck.
