I am posting this here just because I didn't want to clutter the General folder with useless info....

Recently a friend of mine bought EQ and started playing and I told him I would help him level and gear him up with some cheap stuff to give him a nice start that I never had when I played.

Well needless to say after I first bought him so initial gear I helped level him up in South Ro and accidentally typed /d..... I told him to type /d back to decline the duel...

/evil on

Now recently I got the Mace of Confusion from blood and have never used it on any mobs, so I decided to try it out and see what I hit for -- 67 -- 56 -- 64 = dead friend.

Then I helped him with the CR and told him I would buy him some upgrades to apologize, so I take him to the bazaar and lead him down to the arena. I told him this is where I sit to look at the deals because lag is not bad back here. Then I tell him to put me on auto-follow and I take him to.... the Arena.

One moonfire later you have a dead druid, so I get the expected tell 'WTF did you do that for.' and I replied 'where is my thank you." So he thanked me for buying him gear and helping him get SoW. I told him I would never do that again, but I really feel like hitting up Gfay and using the nifty /d command.

And people wonder why new players hate the game, when there are still people like this running around...

well, better you die to a friend than to die to a maicious person you don't know.

although it reminds me of this one time I really wanted to kill a newb- so a like level 5 bard volenteered. I nuked him so he fell unconscious but not dead, waited for him to stand again... then hit him again... it was so money :P

I'm pretty sure i paid and buffed him afterwards :P

If he was under lvl 10 and a good firend then no harm done. If not, kinda assenine.

But the way you end it makes you look more assenine even if you dont mean what you type. You go back to GFay and do this to noobs you dont know?

tsk tsk

Before I get my behind flamed for this, I do not walk around GFay to look for helpless newbies. This whole post was a satire, a true one though.

y friend didn't mind me killing him at all, it was for all the times I bought the boose and pizza and he didn't chip in....

Let this be a lesson! =)

Have a good weekend my druid-ish folk!

I used to pay newbies to duel me back in east commons tunnel way back when. I'd leave them laying on the ground for 10 minutes while I auctioned. They had to earn that 10pp :p

Even better than that was when you ALWAYS left a corpse...go to a secluded spot, and give a newbie caster/weak player 10,000 cp. They then had to figure out if they wanted to move, or wanted to be rich.

Worked every time ^_^
