Anyone else having 1017 error problems connecting today? Not able to log in either account here.

yes, I went LD while zoning and just figured my character had got stuck, was waiting for my char to pop so came read the forums and saw your post.

Was getting 1017, not the usual 1018 "your char is stuck, you're fk'd for now" message.

I can get onto servers other than Antonius Bayle, Solusek Ro, Bertoxxulous. I'm located in the UK.

I started recieving 1001 error messages with the login server shortly after posting this too.

Hope they fix this and don't leave it over christmas =P

Yup, FV for one was up and down like a yoyo earlier. I gave up and went to Second Life to do something constructive.

Conspiracy Theory: The Casino problem wasn't really what the issue that was causing Servers (or zones) to crash. It's some other issue that's rearing it's ugly head right now, but they don't know what it is. Probably a memory leak in the new melee system :eek:

May as well put Casinos back in.

Something else odd we noticed Thursday night... when members of our raid were disconnected (many while awaiting resurrections), they were unable to log back in due to 1017 errors. (I was one of them.)

When we WERE able to log in again, we found that our resurrection timers were down to less than an hour. Now I know that between going 1017 Thursday night and logging back in to get resurrected Friday afternoon I did NOT play any other character. So why the timer was down so far is a mystery. I suspect the system continued to count down the timer while we were in some kind of 1017-limbo.

I tried for about 2 hrs to log in on Friday night, finally gave up. Haven't had a problem yet today, but I've noticed I usually don't until it gets late =(

Since the patch I've also had an odd issue with mobs poofing. I was playing my twink wizard (yeah I have an army). Every time, mob was rooted and I was merrily nuking.

As soon as a nuke took the mob to under 20%, root broke, mob turned to run...and vanished. No experience, no corpse, no anything.

Wonder if the mob is trying to get back on but getting the 1017 error as well?

Don't think this is actualy something new. I've had that happen to me quading raptor island in the past. If you get too far away, the mob doesn't know how to path home. Since it's trying to go home and the game can't find a path, it auto teleports the mob there. Sometimes when it does this the mob poofs.

I love God and his sense of irony, last two night after being LFG for a while I finally get a group for an adventure or two. And what happens? I crash and can't get back on for over an hour. After that I just gave up. I wish I could find God, just so I could give the prick the finger.

I wasn't far from the mob, I was essentially right next to it. When root breaks and it tries to run, I usually melee to keep skills up.

I do remember this happening, but it was a long time ago, well over a year. Someone else was complaining about it in MSeru last nite.

Oh well. If they get the 1017 garbage fixed, I'll live with a flighty mob or two. :rolleyes:

It doesn't have to do with how far you are from the mob so much as how far the mob is from it's spawn point. If it's very far from it's spawn point when it tries to flee, it will warp back. This occurs as soon as it gets a short distance from you. It was a problem with the network code, if I recall right, and maby the monkedy with the code for the mele patch.
