Ok EQ is a little boring latley and I have some extra cash. I want to try another game and the one that's interested me of late is DaoC, had a lot of friends quit (and not come back) from when it came out. I know people say there's alot of bad things about it but I just want to get my own opinion first. Anyways, anyone got some advice, would do horizons but waiting on price to go down a little first :) Eq only boring when im not raiding tho hehe.

Yeah try DAoC (or any other game that takes your fancy) for yourself... don't take other people's word for it!

I quite liked it, but couldn't seem to get to know people.

If you're tired of killing stuff and feel more like constructing stuff / scripting / chatting, Second Life is good. I'm on it almost all the time now.

You know, I think we all just need to reconcile ourselves that games have a life cycle. You can't really expect to play the same computer game for years and years on end and continue to enjoy it. Especially MMO's. Ok, maybe Civ is the exception, but that's different!

So if you play another game you play it until you stop enjoying it. Then you move on. So DAoC might not have the life-span of EQ, but you'll probably enjoy it for some amount of time anyway.

I enjoyed DaoC when I played it at launch, but few of my friends stuck around. Also, at the time, there was very little content past the mid20s for anyone not particularly interested in Realm vs Realm. There is now considerably more content with recent expansions. It's pretty, quests are done VERY well, I especially liked that the epic quest starts at 4 and goes through 50. Tradeskilling isn't bad to do, and the items are better then anything non-quested, though drops are viable (created items can be pricey). All in all, if you're curious, I would suggest trying it for the free month at least :)

Cool, Im gonna pick up a copy today and start an account when I pick up my pay check. Any suggestions to a server would be cool too.

Look at the numbers on the camelot herald and try to find a fairly balanced server by balanced I mean not one realm is overwhelmingly powerful. I tryed to get back into daoc last year for awhile but picking up my druid on Bors I think was a mistake the Mids were at the time so overpowered numberwise that the Hibs and the Albs just couldn't get into it. I think now that Bors leans more toward Alb due soley to Bors being the only server that had level newbs available on in Alb.

There is also a PvE server if you don't enjoy PvP or realm vs realm. Can't think of the name right now but will say co-op next to server name.

i was gonna suggest a lot of games but they aren't fantasy fiction or MMOs for that matter :(
I've been playing a lot of Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia the Sands of Time. Both are excellent games.

I couldn't help to notice your avatar has a soldier shooting, so if you like war games check out Call of Duty it's a GREAT game, has me hooked on multiplayer at the moment.. the single player game is amazing but kinda short.
