I am interested in some advice with this mob. Of course I am not part of a large raiding guild (hence the non knowledge).

I have heard conflicting stores regarding said mob is the reason behind my inquiry. I read that someone did it with one group of 65's then I read that you have to have at least two groups of 65's. I can get together a 65 warrior, 65 cleric, 65 necro, 65 shaman, 65 enchanter, 65 druid, probably some others that are 65 as well if needed, but would take more planning/scheduling (and we know how that goes sometimes).

Do we have to kill Gryme the Crypt Guardian if we are just interested in Aramin and not Grummus? If so, since I read he is unslowable, can we do him with one group? I know these sound like silly questions, but the only time I have done this encounter was a year ago, and I just sortof followed the herd so to speak on an open raid.

Mainly we are interested in the firebone notebook. If we can kill Aramin with one group, loot and then die to the 8 spiders that spawn, thats fine. or the necro can FD, everyone else die, then necro loots after spiders despawn if they despawn before body rots.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

How well geared its the group? it can be a very tough encounter. Take least 3 groups with you imo.

Yes you have to fight Gryme to get the key into Aramin's lair. The spiders dont despawn (to my knowledge) but then again, I killed this mob when Pop first came out and havent been back since.

And there are more then just the spider adds, there are two mobs behind Aramin that will add as well.

If you just want Aramin dead, kill Aramin and loot fast, have a wizard cast AE TL just as Aramin dies, then loot quick, and exodus/take TL out.

I HATE ARAMIN. I have killed him 15+ times and still no book /cry. I've duoed him with another person, but we were both 2-boxing - druid, cleric, warrior, and enchanter. After the spider dies, you have to basically loot and then evac or die (or run like hell to zone and make sure u have key handy lol). The results on getting the book, though, is not typical - I am just VERY unlucky. That said, dont expect to get book on first or even 2nd kill.

My personal fear is that they've nerfed the drop rate on the book - I'm 0/1 personally. If you can get 2 groups - bring 2 groups it makes it a lot more manageable. I did see one for sale for 350kpp .... it sold in about 2 min. if that tells you anything.

If anyone wants to put together a group to kill him on Rodcet I'm always game and can usually furnish a couple friends.

Aramin is rooted so debuff from a distance, then memblur afterwards.

Because its rooted, the closest person will gain aggro. This is a good chance for your people to learn the benefits of max melee range. Have your tank aggro Aramin and walk to the opposite side. This will turn Aramin's back end towards the raid for everyone else to do their damage. As long as your meleeing people don't get closer to Aramin than your tank, they should be the one keeping aggro through the entire fight.

When Aramin gets near death, warn your druids/wizards/mages/enchanters that its time to prepare themselves for AE attacks. When Aramin dies, the mini spiders spawn but they're not too high in hp. You want your people to AE the hell out of them once Aramin dies, and between the chanters stunning and everyone else doing damage, they should go down quick. If you guys frequently visit Ssra as well, the skeletons in the mines are a great way my guild learned this (great way to get ore for Emp bane and shards to drop).

You can evac out and come back, but sometimes that makes for extra travel time and whatnot. If you're going there just for the book, then maybe loot-and-scoot with evac might work (not as fun though, hehe).

Thanks for the advice! We did work on this with the alliance this weekend on the way to Grummus (tried him with 25 just for kicks! Yes we lost but it was fun)

We didn't pull the spawns behind him but they were mezzable, so the enchanters just kept them mezzed until after the babies were dead. With 25, this seemed super easy, so overall I would say two groups minimum would be nice just because it's safer.

on the down side, he didn't drop the book :( I have seen one for sale in about 6 weeks and it was 200K. it sold sometime that day /shrug if it gets to the point where I have all the other books, and just need this one, I will consider splurging for it.

Have been involved in killing this guy about a half a dozen times without one book. It is either a run of bad luck or the book is his ultra rare drop

he's easy
1- Clear rooms, since it's perma rooted monks can pull his room easily.
2- set up CH rot in the wall of the room just before the spider
3- re clear adds if taken too long.
4- make tank rush it when the CHC is running
5- when he dies, you have 2 options:
a) AE the spiders, get the warriors to AE taunt and if not just get every Warrior AND Paladins to tank untanked mobs, gather them up and AE them out.
b) AE TL out fast then come back in after despawn of little spideys :)
